In a horrible incident that happened on the night of Sunday, March 9, a journalist for Alex Jones’s InfoWars was “brutally murdered” outside his home in Austin, Texas. As of now, it is not known whether the slaying of that journalist, Jamie White, was a political hit or the sort of criminal violence for which the blue city of Austin is increasingly known.
Austin Detective Leah Ratliff, in a video posted to the Austin Police Department’s Facebook page around 4:00 am on the morning of Monday, March 10, after Mr. White passed away as officers tried to save him shortly after midnight on Monday morning, commented on the killing and explained what happened. It was only later that InfoWars owner and founder Alex Jones identified the victim as InfoWars reporter Jamie White.
The detective began, saying, “Good evening. I’m Detective Leo Ratliff with The Austin Police Department public information office. So last night, at approximately 11:57 pm officers responded to a shoot, stab, hot shot, which is a high priority call for service in the 2300 block of Douglas Street. nine one one had received a nine one one call that indicated an emergency at this location.
Noting that officers got there near-immediately, she said, “Officers arrived on scene approximately two minutes later, at around 11:59 pm, and located a male subject with obvious signs of trauma. Austin police officers attempted life-saving measures, and the victim was pretty expediently transported by EMS to a local hospital.”
She then noted that Mr. White passed away at the hospital shortly after midnight, saying, “Unfortunately, the victim, an adult male, was pronounced deceased at the hospital at approximately 12:19 am, this morning. APD homicide detectives are currently on scene and are actively conducting an on-scene, ongoing investigation. I just spoke with the homicide detectives leading to leading this investigation, and they are not releasing any suspect information at this time.”
She added that the department is asking locals who know what happened to come forward and aid the investigation, saying, “We would like to remind you that this is pretty early on in the investigation, and the homicide unit will be releasing more information as they are able. We are encouraging that anyone with any information regarding this incident, contact the homicide unit.”
Then, when asked by media shortly afterward, the detective again noted that the police department has no information to release on any suspect, as the investigation is in its early stages, saying, “There’s no suspect information that homicide is releasing at this time because it’s really early on, early on in the stages of the investigation.” Watch her here:

After the slaying, Alex Jones posted on X (formerly Twitter) and announced that it was Mr. White who was killed in the Sunday night attack. He wrote, blaming Austin’s DA, “We are deeply saddened to inform you that InfoWars Reporter Jamie White was brutally murdered around midnight Sunday night due, in part, to the policies of the Soros Austin, TX D.A. Jose Garza.”
Continuing, he vowed to continue the work for which Mr. White stood, saying, “We pledge that Jamie’s tragic death will not be in vain, and those responsible for this senseless violence will be brought to justice. Jamie’s important work will be carried on through InfoWars, our readers, and our cherished listeners.”
