Congressman Moves to Ban All Forms Of Welfare Access for Non-Citizens

In another big win for MAGA and America coming out of Congress, Rep. Randy Fine (R-FL) has moved to ban illegal aliens from accessing any form of welfare spending, declaring in a post on X that he is working to introduce legislation to that effect as a way of protecting those important programs for Americans.

As background, while illegal aliens are theoretically unable to access most welfare programs, it has come out that there are a great deal of loopholes that have allowed them to indirectly access SNAP, to access Medicaid if blue states help them use the loopholes to do so, and to access programs like Section 8, though the Trump Administration is making efforts to stop that.

As an example of the major problem, an analysis that was based on USDA data and conducted by the Economic Policy Innovation Center found that, in fiscal year 2023, a whopping 1.764 million non-citizens received SNAP benefits, and that those benefits cost American taxpayers a massive $5.7 billion.

Naturally, many Americans, particularly conservatives, have found that absolutely infuriating, as so many Americans are struggling right now with the high cost of living, and so the fact that so much is being spent on subsidizing the lifestyles of those who are here illegally is particularly aggravating.

It was in response to the furor over those loophole revelations and general discontent related to the government shutdown and the pausing of critical services, such as SNAP, that the shutdown has meant, that Rep. Fine took to X at the end of October to announce his bill that would end such practices for good.

Making his announcement in a post on Wednesday, October 29, that soon went absolutely viral on X, Rep. Fine said, “I am going to introduce a bill to ban all non-citizens from any form of welfare. No Food Stamps. No Section 8 housing. No Medicaid. No Cash Assistance. Not one penny. Not one. If you want free stuff, go home.”

Rep. Fine has also moved to ban dual citizens from serving in Congress. Explaining the bill, which is called Disqualifying Dual Loyalty Act to Ban Foreign Citizens from Serving in Congress, Rep. Fine explained: “I think it’s a fair argument to say you can only swear allegiance to one country, and if you’re in Congress, that allegiance should be to America. This bill ensures that the people making laws for our citizens are themselves fully committed to our country, not divided between two.”

Commenting on the bill to Breitbart News, Fine explained a few more details related to the bill’s functioning, noting, “People who may have dual citizenship can choose to give it up.” He continued, “It’s not that if you’ve ever been a dual citizen” you cannot ever serve in Congress, but rather that “just as you can’t be one moving forward.”

He also noted, commenting on potential pushback, “I learned a long time ago, there’s never a bill that doesn’t have pushback. I’m certain there will be.” He then further noted, “I’m certain that members who happen to be dual citizens won’t like the bill.” He also said, “I don’t know who they are.”
