In a horribly tragic moment last week, Daniel Timpf, the father of beloved Fox News Channel personality Kat Timpf, the co-host of Greg Gutfeld’s show “Gutfeld,” passed away unexpectedly. Such is what Timpf, who in recent years has faced a personal battle with cancer, revealed in a terribly sad post on X.
In it, she said, “My seemingly healthy, strong father Daniel “Dad Timpf” Timpf died very unexpectedly on the evening of May 7 at just 69 years old.” She went on to comment on her father’s positive qualities, and how he helped her get through the discovery that she had breast cancer when she was preparing to give birth to her baby boy, and helped the family get through that fight with cancer.
Continuing, she described how sad and painful it has all been, from the cancer and its consequences to the unexpected passing of a man on whom she leaned and whose death came as a total, unexpected shock to her and her family. She also explained how her mother died unexpectedly in recent years, adding to the tragic nature of her dad’s passing.
Then, concluding the post, she described the immense misery and sadness she feels. She said, “I am currently living an unimaginable horror. For many people, this is a tragic story. For me, it’s my life. I do not know how I will recover from it. I only know that I have to for the sake of what is left of my family.”
But that post was met not with silence but by the entire conservative media ecosystem rallying around her. High-profile commenters on her post left messages of support like, “Praying for you, Kat, and for your father’s soul and your whole family. 🙏🏼,” “So sorry Kat. Prayers up for you,” and “🙏here in your corner always”.
Similarly, Brianna Lyman, a conservative writer and frequent Fox News guest contributor, said, “Your dad sounds like the kind of dad most people can only dream of having. I’m so sorry for your loss, Kat. ❤️”. Kat’s fellow Fox News personality Guy Benson chimed in too, saying, “Kat, just gutted for you and your whole family. No words suffice. We love you. 💔”
Also chiming in was Senator Mike Lee (R-UT), who left a comment saying, “I’m so sorry to hear that. I’m a big fan of yours and am so saddened by this news. I lost my dad 30 years ago (he was only 61), and know how difficult this can be. I wish I had better words—capable of bringing comfort. I don’t. I will follow your advice by trying to serve others.”

GOP Los Angeles Chairman Roxanne Hoge left a thoughtful message too, saying, “Kat, you do not know me or the millions of other people who will weep upon reading this and will offer you our very weak condolences, but I hope you will feel lifted up in prayer and that knowing that your father is with you and your son for all eternity will give you some tiny degree of comfort. May God bless your family.”
