Elon Musk and libertarian podcaster Michael Malice were credited for bringing Roseanne Barr back to Twitter after she voluntarily quit the social media platform in late 2020, with a controversial podcast with hilarious comedian Theo Von being the spark that led to her return.
Theo Von’s podcast episode with conservative comedy legend Roseanne Barr was removed from YouTube recently for hate speech, so he brought it to Twitter, saying, “My podcast with Roseanne was removed from another platform so i want it to be able to live somewhere.đ Amen!”

The episode was apparently removed because Barr, while joking about Silicon Valley censoring “misinformation,” said, âAnd you know, nobody died in the Holocaust either. Thatâs the truth.â That was a joke, meant to point out the ridiculousness of it all, but YouTube did just what they were joking about and cracked down on the episode, booting it from the platform. Hence Von bringing it to Twitter.
Elon, cheering Theo Von bringing his podcast to Twitter after it was booted from YouTube, said, “Comedy is legal on this platform!” Roseanne, in response, said, “Damn it feels good to be a gangster. Thank you @michaelmalice for getting me my twitter back! 62 million views isnât bad for a multi-cancelled has been. Thanks @elonmusk for fact checking the mind controlled bots after me and for giving @TheoVon a platform. Comedy is back!”

Her Twitter account got Roseanne in trouble in 2018, when she joked that Obama advisor Valerie Jarrett was offspring of the Muslim Brotherhood and Planet of the Apes, saying, âmuslim brotherhood & planet of the apes had a baby=vj.”
That came after she attacked the Clinton family and George Soros, writing that Chelsea Clinton was “married to soros nephew,” that âsorosâ goal [sis] the overthrow of us constitutional republic by buying/backing candidates 4 local district attorney races who will ignore US law & favor âfeelingsâ instead-and call everyone who is alarmed by that âracist,ââ and that Soros was a ânazi who turned in his fellow Jews 2 be murdered in German concentration camps & stole their wealth.â
Predictably, ABC was unwilling to defend her after the tweets and canceled her show, “Roseanne.” Roseanne deleted the main tweet at issue and apologized, but the show was canceled regardless. She later attacked the network for its trying to silence her on Twitter, saying, âAny tweet that was not âI love Hillary Clinton,â I got a call for.”
She added, âI removed it every time they called. And they called frequently.â She also said, âEveryone was begging me to give up my Twitter [use]. Everyone. My kids were trying to lock me out, but I wouldnât because itâs like I just couldnât.â
In any case, Roseanne is now back on Twitter since it is a free speech platform, or is at least closer to being one under Elon’s management and ownership than it was under Jack Dorsey, when it was known for silencing prominent allies of Trump and critics of the leftist regime.
Since coming back to Twitter, she tweeted, “My new episode is up! YouTube is going to have a hard time throttling views with this one;) MoâNique is one of my best friends and an amazing guest. Go check it out on evil YouTube and smash like and subscribe to piss them off.“
