Famous comedian Andrew Schulz recently took aim at the city of San Francisco, calling out the Bay Area over its progressive policies and the rampant crime that has followed. Over the past several years, the once-great California city has been plagued with issues such as crime, homelessness, and drug use.
Schulz addressed San Francisco, claiming he was initially skeptical that the city was as bad as the media portrays it. “I see the way the media tries to portray San Francisco. Try to make it look like it’s just crime-infested, drug-ridden dystopia,” the comic said.
However, upon touching down in the city, he quickly realized how bad the state of affairs are after observing a man defecating into a fountain. He informed San Francisco that they do, in fact, “need some f*cking laws.” He added, “I know San Francisco, I came out here, I’m like that’s bullsh*t. I got out here Thursday. I saw a man sh*t into a fountain. We need some laws. Guys we need some f*cking laws.”
Schulz slammed the progressive governance in San Francisco, illustrating that they attempted to be the “cool mom” of cities, but it terribly backfired. “You tried to beat a cool mom in cities. It didn’t work. ‘Come to my house and do the fentanyl’ is terrifying.”
He further pointed out that as a New York City native, an urban environment with its own dysfunction, he has never been more terrified than when he was in the infamous Tenderloin neighborhood in San Francisco. “I’m from New York City, the Tenderloin is the scariest place ever been in my time,” he said.
Schulz conceded that he understood the well-meaning intentions behind the progressive ideology driving the policy decisions in San Francisco but explained how they are predicated on a flawed premise that people are inherently good.
“Don’t get me wrong, I understand the idea behind the progressive policies. I think it’s charming, I think it’s nice. It’s a city that’s going ‘you know what, we trust our people to be good.’ And we learned you’re not, you’re not good people,” the comedian stated. “You will steal a toothbrush if it’s not behind bulletproof glass. The toothbrushes have more security than the Mona Lisa, there’s a problem. ” Watch Schulz’s performance below:
The politically incorrect comedian also took a shot at Nancy Pelosi, playing on speculation that she insider trades. “It’s amazing that you can predict the stock market for three decades and not predict that if you let people steal they’ll do it,” Schulz said.
The American Tribune reported on legal actions from disgruntled residents of the Tenderloin neighborhood, who are suing the city of San Francisco over the deteriorating conditions in the Bay Area. A lawyer representing the residents, Matt Davis, stated, “For years, the Tenderloin has been treated as The City’s de facto containment zone for dangerous, unsanitary, and illegal behavior.”
Davis added, “The city blithely treats the Tenderloin as a place where this type of harmful activity can happen on the streets and sidewalks, and it’s inconceivable that they’d allow it in other neighborhoods. … The residents, families, and small businesses in this historically diverse neighborhood will no longer tolerate this discriminatory treatment … They demand an end to the rampant illegal street vending, and from the squalor and misery that exists throughout their neighborhood because The City has decided that people in the throes of addiction can live and die on the Tenderloin’s streets.”
