The Donald Trump indictment has sent CNN into another frenzy of holier-than-thou accusations against the former president and his supporters. On a three-year-old episode of the Joe Rogan Experience, comedian Donnell Rawlings perfectly explained the outlandish coverage that CNN is airing to sway the public away from Donald Trump.
At the time, the anti-Trump coverage was out of control. CNN was doing everything in its power to turn its base into staunch anti-Trump radicals, and ordinary people, like Donnell Rawlings, were taken aback by the constant attacks. Rawlings said (warning: Rawlings has the mouth of a sailor):
“I watch both outlets, Fox and CNN. It’s confusing but CNN just wears you out. CNN is like a nagging girlfriend. It’s like, ‘Oh, b*tch, shut the f*ck up!’ The same sh*t b*tch? Yo Joe, CNN will have you like, ‘b*tch, you don’t got nothing else to argue about? Five years ago, you haven’t found another argument.’ CNN just be like, ‘uh-uh, you remember that time…’ If you listen to too much CNN bro, you don’t even know what the f*ck is going on with nothing, other than how much you hate (Trump).”

According to Ellis from The American Tribune, CNN is having trouble finding enough viewers to remain relevant in today’s evolving media space. CNN suffered a massive year-on-year decline in March viewership, a warning sign for the platform that seems content to stay doing the same thing forever. Ellis wrote:
“Struggling cable news network CNN has just received more bad news, which has become a regular occurrence. Reports indicate that compared to March of last year, CNN lost 61 percent of primetime viewers and 73 percent of viewers in the key demographic 25-54 age range.”
Breitbart also explained the poor ratings, saying that the current programming at the outlet is the reason for the decline. John Nolte of Breitbart wrote:
“The top-rated show at CNN — a far-left propaganda outlet that spreads conspiracy theories and political violence — was Anderson Cooper 360. It placed 26th and averaged only 635,000 total viewers. Erin Burnett earned only 625,000 viewers. During his smug two hours, Jake Tapper averaged only 584,000 and 575,000 total viewers… These are disastrous numbers. Don Lemon’s morning show attracted only 346,000 viewers.
“Meanwhile, at Fox News, Tucker Carlson, Jesse Watters, and Sean Hannity attracted 3.25 million, 2.67 million, and 2.5 million, respectively. The media spin is that CNN’s problems stem from its struggle to find a permanent 9 p.m. anchor. Well, that spin is laughable. All that “spin” tells you is that no one will watch CNN’s current anchors in that timeslot because no one likes those people. Also, ask yourself this… What does a problem at 9 p.m. have to do with Tapper belly-flopping for two late-afternoon hours or Anderson Cooper’s ratings humiliation?
“…Because CNN is already dead, it’s a zombie network walking around dead.”
The “zombie network” might have been so hungry for brains that it accidentally ate its own. At any rate, if the way that Fox News outperforms its liberal counterpart is any indication, 2024 may be a chance for a true red wave, the likes of which conservatives hoped for in 2020.
