Comedian and “America’s Got Talent” alumni Kabir “Kabeezy” Singh recently passed away at 39. According to reports, Singh died on December 4, and his cause of death was not immediately known.  However, Singh allegedly had a history of health complications, leading officials to believe he may have died of natural causes. The news of the comedian’s death sent shockwaves through the world of comedy and entertainment.

“America’s Got Talent” released a statement on Singh’s passing, who competed in season 16 of the show.  “The AGT family is deeply saddened to hear of the passing of Kabir Singh, a talented comedian who graced our stage with his undeniable humor,” the show said in a statement to Us Weekly after news broke of Sing’s death last month. “He brought joy and laughter to so many and his incredible talent will be missed.”

Various figures in the comedy industry made public statements expressing sorrow for the loss of the beloved entertainer.  Helium Comedy Studios similarly wrote in honor of Singh, “Taking this week to look back at some favorite moments from our special with the hilarious Kabir Singh, who left us this past week much too soon. 💔 RIP Kabir.”

“It’s My Deepest Regrets to let Everyone Know that Kabir Singh has passed away… He passed away peacefully in his sleep and this is the most devastating post I’ve posted….Services will be Sunday December 15 at 9:00 am @ Chapel of the Chimes in Hayward… Please keep his family and fiancé in your thoughts and prayers….I Love you bro,” a friend of Singh’s, Jeremy Curry, posted on Facebook, sharing a picture of the two together.

Comedian Mario Salazar wrote a post honoring Singh on X, “Kabir Singh was a beautiful human being. We talked every once in a while and he would tell me how talented I was which meant a lot cause he was soooo funny. The comedy world is mourning. He was loved by everyone. I got to see him and perform with him last month in his home club Tommy T’s. Never thought our goodbye would be our last goodbye. Love you Buddy 🎤. Rest now.”

According to an obituary written about the comedian, Kabir Singh moved around as a child, leaving his birthplace of Portland, Oregon to move to India, and then returning to the United States at 13. All this moving and having to fit in with new people helped him develop a talent for making people laugh.  As an adult, Singh began hitting comedy club stages and quickly made a name for himself, winning the San Francisco Comedy Competition and soon earning his way to television appearances.”

Outlining some of the major highlights from Singh’s career, the obituary continued, “He landed appearances on “Gabriel Iglesias’s Stand-Up Revolution” and the animated show “Family Guy” in 2016. In the years that followed, he also performed on stage with stars like Dave Chappelle and Jo Koy, and he performed at comedy clubs across the nation.”
