CNN, already in serious trouble thanks to its terrible ratings and “talent” shakeups has been rocked by yet another scandal. This one involves CNN anchor Jake Tapper, one of the network’s inveterate Trump haters. His top producer at the network was terminated after a sex scandal broke.
Apparently, the producer was “hooking up with a subordinate.” Naturally, that was treated as unacceptable when the network found out and the producer was forced out, giving the already struggling network yet another problem to deal with. Trending Politics News, reporting on the scandal, said:
As CNN continues to weather a string of controversies, Federico Quadrani, Jake Tapper’s executive producer, was dismissed from the network after allegedly engaging in a romantic relationship with a subordinate. This latest scandal comes just over a year after the departure of former CNN chief Jeff Zucker, who resigned following revelations about his relationship with top executive Allison Gollust.
Sources indicate that news of Quadrani’s departure is quickly spreading within the company, with one insider cautioning that the details are likely to become public knowledge soon.
Fox News Digital added more details on the situation, reporting that:
A CNN insider told Fox News Digital that “complaints were made” about Quadrani, and last Wednesday someone brought direct evidence of the inappropriate relationship directly to Tapper. The CNN anchor then went to human resources and informed executives, and his top producer was fired by Friday.
CNN declined comment when reached by Fox News Digital.
The Post referred to Quadrani as Tapper’s “right hand man” who worked with the CNN anchor for a decade. Tapper joined CNN in 2013 after a tenure at ABC News.
Quadrani’s affair is somewhat surprising given that it comes hot on the heels of former CNN CEO Jeff Zucker’s ouster, which occurred in part because of his affair with a colleague at CNN, Allison Gollust, as the New York Post reported, saying:
Ousted CNN boss Jeff Zucker’s affair with his colleague Allison Gollust was the “worst-kept secret in TV” but they conspired to keep it out of the media for years with a web of lies, sources told the Post.
Rumors have circulated for years that CNN’s two most senior executives, who made the decision to fire anchor Chris Cuomo, have been having an affair, which played a part in ending both their marriages.
Multiple sources claim CNN president Zucker and Gollust, the network’s executive vice president and chief marketing officer, have been involved in a secret romance for more than 10 years, even as they lived in the same Manhattan building on consecutive floors with their former spouses.
And as the pair took vacations together, went apartment hunting and went into each other’s hotel rooms for alleged “meetings,” Gollust has spent years lying about their affair, blasting reporters on numerous occasions for being “sexist” by suggesting she was sleeping with her boss.
The new CNN CEO, Chris Licht, has aimed to rehabilitate CNN’s image in the eyes of Americans by moving back to real news and trying to keep the network away from scandals such as this one with Quadrani. However, that’s not going great, as CNN is still seriously struggling with ratings.
