The internet has exploded over allegations that Minnesota Governor and failed 2024 Democratic vice presidential candidate Tim Walz has been compromised by China. Recently released transcripts from internal DHS communications, along with accusations from a prominent journalist, have suggested that Walz may have shared military secrets with the CCP.
For context, a recent FOIA lawsuit, launched by conservative legal group Judicial Watch, uncovered 7 pages of DHS records revealing concerns about Minnesota Governor Tim Walz’s worrying ties to the Chinese Communist Party, including 30 trips to the country.
As we reported, Judicial Watch President Tom Fitton slammed the cover-up and explained the significance of these messages. The conservative legal activist noted, “These documents uncovered by Judicial Watch show that the Biden administration covered up intelligence concerns about Tim Walz’s connections to China. This is a major scandal.”
In the same document, a DHS insider quipped, “China is happy,” in an August 7, 2024, Microsoft Teams group chat. Another DHS official noted, ‘Walt’s got the VP. You all have no idea how these feeds into what prc [People’s Republic of China] has been doing here with him and local gov. It’s seriously a line of the intel. Target someone who is perceived they can get to DC.”
Reacting to the scandal on social media, one prominent conservative posted, “What if I told you a person who traveled to China 20-30 times and had a relationship with a CCP official’s daughter wanted to be VP and have access to classified info?” Continuing, the user added, “You would say no way, right? That person is clearly compromised by Communist China. That person is Tim Walz.”
In the comments under the post, conservatives echoed the sentiments of these posts. One commentator noted, “We as a nation need to be very clear that we are in a Cold War II and association with the Chinese government should not be tolerated. There is a word for those people, foreign agent.”
Taking the Democrats to task, one conservative stated, “I still can’t believe how stupid the democrats were in picking a Harris/Waltz combo to run. They are so out of touch that they thought this was the answer. The elitist snobs are so completely lost as to what our country is made up of.”

As we reported, Minnesota-based investigative journalist and conservative reporter Liz Collin exposed Walz in a conversation with Tucker Carlson. She alleged, “So under Walz we have the riots, we have these lies just about things with his background that I think really deserve more attention, more investigating these ties to China, which I think are troubling.”
After Carlson asked her to elaborate, Collin explained, “Well . . . He said that he’s made more than 30 trips to China. He went there upon graduating, trips to China, went there upon graduating.” Apparently, these trips continued after he graduated from school. Digging into the details, the reporter added, “[He was in] the National Guard at the time as well, making these trips to China.”
Offering another worrying insight, she alleged, “I’ve spoken to a couple people that served with Tim Walz in Nebraska in that guard unit and they suspect, and we’ve done stories and tried to reach out to Walz for comment, but they suspect that perhaps he took their standard operating procedure, the SOP for the howitzer army tank. He was assigned to this tank. It was nuclear-capable. And this was all laid out in the SOP that goes missing while he’s there. And they . . . had talked to the FBI about, about this as well. There’s so many questions.”
