“Clear Example of Political Corruption”: Current Democrat Governor Slammed for Alleged $22 Million Corruption Scheme [WATCH]

In a shocking exposé, Derrick Evans, a Republican running to represent West Virginia as a senator, blasted Janet Mills, the Democratic governor of Maine, for an alleged $22 million corruption scheme involving her brother.

For context, Governor Janet Mills of Maine, a Democrat, has a contentious relationship with President Donald Trump. Most recently, the pair clashed over Maine’s far-left laws on transgender athletes, during which Mills famously quipped, “We’re going to follow the law, sir. We’ll see you in court.”

In any case, Derick Evans blasted to woke governor in a post to X on April 26, 2025. He said, “Janet Mills is the Democrat Governor of Maine. Her brother allegedly pocketed $22 million into his shell company that was meant for towns in Maine.“This is a clear example of political corruption in the state of Maine.'”

Adding additional context, he included a video in his post that provided the alleged scheme’s details. The video stated, “When Janet Mills assumed office a year later, she immediately approved CMP to clear cut in 145 mile corridor through western Maine without the endorsement of any of the localities affected were all in major disagreement with the decision, and that $22 million that was supposed to be spent on the towns appears to have been pocketed by this shell company run by Peter Mills, rather than being spent on the people it was actually supposed to.”

Concuding, the clip explained how, “When I reached out to western mountains Corp to verify where the funds were spent and the status of the land, my request was ignored, and there exists no information on the firm’s website either,” adding, “This is a clear example of political corruption in the state of Maine, and deserves to be investigated further, in my opinion.”

In the comments under the post, conservatives expressed their anger with the Maine governor. One such comment said, “Well, look here. 👀 The Governor of Maine, who famously defied President Trump’s Executive Order to keep males out of women’s sports, has some explaining to do about a $22 million contract for her brother.” Another added, “Isn’t she the one who said to President Trump “see you in court”? She is going to get her wish.”

Critizing corrupt politicians, one user said, “Corruption whispers in the shadows, but the light of accountability often reveals more than we expect. How many more stories like this remain untold? Are we merely scratching the surface of deeper narratives? #PoliticalIntegrity.” Adding context, one reply noted, “And people wonder why the investigations take time. You have to follow twisty paths, that can lead to the politician, a family member, or friend. You have to build a case that can stand up and you need a judge that isn’t on the take too.”

Rounding out the comments, other users demanded justice. One social media user wrote, “That property should be taken back. Corruption shouldn’t result in property ownership. There should be an investigation on this. Let’s share and see if it can get traction.” A response read, “Our Law Enforcement must be shorthanded, this must be why they didn’t address this problem? Must be 🙄”
