Famous actor Chuck Norris recently shared tragic news with his followers on Facebook. Norris, 84, informed readers that his mother, Wilma Scarberry, had passed away at the age of 103. While the loss is undeniably heartbreaking for the family, Norris celebrated his mother’s life, highlighting the light she shined on this world throughout her life. Touching on her “unwavering faith,” Norris rests easy that his mother is now spending eternity with Christ after more than a century on this side of heaven.
“Wednesday morning, my brother Aaron and I’s wonderful mother went home to be with Jesus. Our mom was a woman of unwavering faith, a beacon of light in our lives, and her love reflected God’s grace. Growing up, her laughter filled our home with joy, and her hugs provided a sense of safety that we will forever cherish.” Norris wrote in a Facebook post.
He continued, “She had a remarkable way of making everyone feel special, often putting the needs of others before her own. From my earliest memories, she taught me the importance of kindness and compassion. I am so thankful for the countless lessons she shared, the prayers she lifted for us, and the way she embodied the love of Christ every day.” Concluding the heartfelt message, Norris signed off, “We love you, Mom. Until we meet again.”
Norris received an outpouring of prayers and support from users in the comments section. One person said in the comments section of Norris’ post, “Children are often a reflection of their parents; so if the good I’ve seen from you over the years, Mr. Norris, is any testament to they type of woman that she was, then the world experienced a tough loss and could certainly use more women like her, not one less. My condolences.”
Another Facebook user wrote, “I’m so sorry for your loss, Chuck, but also so grateful you were blessed with such an amazing angel for a mom. She built and left behind an incredible legacy of love, kindness, and strength. Your family will be in my prayers during this difficult time, and I pray for you and your brothers comfort and peace.”
The Christian Tribune previously reported on timeless wisdom offered by Norris on how to combat the increasingly prevalent issue of anxiety in today’s world. “Worries and anxiety will haunt you ‘until the cows come home,’” Norris said. “Let go and let God…Troubles come and troubles go, but we don’t need to focus on them when there is so much right and good going on in our lives and even the world every minute. Where’s our focus and hope? In our supply or the divine Supplier who has promised to provide?”
“God’s greatest gifts to us come in the form of our relationships. Don’t take one for granted, with two legs or four,” he continued. “If you’ve been successful, odds are it didn’t come because you were born with a silver spoon,” he said. “The hard work we hated as kids made us who we are today, right? It’s still true: When the going gets tough, the tough get going. Grit and perseverance still win the gold!”
