A stark warning came from Jerry B. Jenkins, author of the book series “Left Behind,” as he claimed that the conditions for the raptured have been met on Earth. Throughout the Bible, but especially in the book of Revelations, plenty of prophecies are laid out before the reader, which indicate the near coming of the end times. According to Jenkins, those prophecies have already come true.
Jenkins is a New York Times best-selling author, and his “Left Behind” series was well received by his mainly Christian audience who embraced the fictional books. Jenkins is also working his way through a younger series called “The Chosen.” With the third installment of the series completed, he discussed the upcoming book along with his opinions on the end times.
Jenkins began discussing the ongoing war between Israel and Hamas and talking about the implications that he believes it has on the lives of everyone on Earth. He is not talking about the economic or social ramifications of the war, although those certainly exist. Jenkins is far more interested in what the war may signify about the upcoming return of Jesus Christ.
He told the Christian Post, “It’s clear, we’re heading for something and it seems sooner than ever now. The prophecies do say that Israel will be attacked from all sides, which seems like that’s happening now. And then it says that the Great Bear of the North and the great army from the East will also attack.
“Dr. LaHaye, who’s now been gone for seven years, he believed that the bear was Russia, and the army from the East was China. And I think there’s some real evidence for that. We really need to keep an eye on that.”
Now, Jenkins isn’t full of himself to the extent that he thinks he can exactly predict when the Rapture will be upon us. On the contrary, he is even more aware due to his deep understanding of Biblical studies that he cannot accurately predict when it will happen. He is, however, sure that the pre-conditions have been met.
He continued, “Nobody knows the day or the hour, not even the Son of Man. He (Jesus) didn’t know, so it’s sort of folly for us to try to predict the day or the hour. But also, I think all the prophecies have been fulfilled that need to be before the rapture so that it could be today.”
Jenkins believes that this should be taken as an important message by Christians, meant to place urgency toward bringing more people to Christ. “Now that should be an urgent call for us to keep making sure that people aren’t left behind and telling them the truth.”
The harrowing events that are happening all around the world seem to be placing us at a tipping point of something. According to Jenkins, that something may very well be the end times described at the end of the Bible. If he is right, that should spur all Christians to up their efforts in spreading the Word of God.
