Speaking to Fox News Digital, actor turned kids’ book author Kirk Cameron, a committed Christian who rose to national prominence when some blue city libraries refused to let him host events, said that he is coming out with a new television show meant to push back against woke Hollywood. Cameron said he sees the show as an important way of helping parents find wholesome entertainment for their kids.
The show that Mr. Kirk is creating is called “Adventures with Iggy and Mr. Kirk.” Created by Mr. Cameron and Brave Books, the publishing house for his non-woke kids books, it is a live-action kids’ show that will help teach kids the proper values while also keeping them entertained and not be overly annoying for their parents to watch with them.
According to a press release from the Brave Books team behind the show, “Adventures with Iggy and Mr. Kirk” will “teach solid morals, like Mr. Rogers’ Neighborhood, but modernized with high energy, hilarious dialog, animated stories, and surprise guest stars at every turn. It will be a show so good that you will be asking your kids to watch it.”
Speaking about why he thinks the show is important, Cameron told Fox News Digital, “Parents and grandparents are sickened and tired of their children being attacked by the woke wolves of Hollywood.” He added, “That’s why I’m continuing to work with Brave Books to dive further into the world of children’s entertainment.”
Continuing, Cameron said, “It’s not just time to take back our libraries and literature. It’s time to take back every area of culture that these animals have devoured.” Then, speaking about what market the new show aims to reach, he added, “Good families are looking for entertainment they can trust – stories that teach children biblically based moral values.” So, in Cameron’s view, “supporting ‘Adventures with Iggy and Mr. Kirk’ is another step forward in creating the culture we want for our future generations.”
Further, Cameron added that it is increasingly difficult for Christians to find entertainment content that aligns with their values, saying, “Christian parents today struggle to find quality content that reflects their values and captures the attention of modern-day kids. Our show aims to bridge that gap by providing entertainment that is both wholesome and engaging.”
He then said, speaking to Fox News Digital, “It feels like we’re just getting buried by Hollywood and its evil agenda to subvert parents and pollute the hearts and minds of children.” Adding to that, he noted, “I know that people whose hearts are in the right place and who are working with all of their might to do what is right can often be the unexpected miracle that changes the game. And I’ve always believed that and want to be a part of that for my generation. That’s why I’m partnering with Brave Books.”
And, speaking about how the new show will help teach kids the right values, he said, “Mr. Rogers didn’t talk about gender reality. He didn’t talk about critical race theory. He didn’t have to warn children about the dangers of socialism and the removal of the First and Second Amendments. But our children do need to learn those things, because of where we’ve come as a nation.”
Similarly to Cameron, actress Leigh-Allyn Baker, who will star in the show alongside Cameron, said, “Parents want wholesome, enriching content for their children. I find it sad that most of Hollywood is no longer interested in protecting the innocence of children but instead is willing to sacrifice them for the promotion of political, progressive propaganda that checks some boxes for their corporations.”
Cameron also appeared on Glen Beck’s show to discuss the new television program. Tweeting about that interview, he said, “Thank you, @glennbeck, for having me on your show to make this special announcement! Indeed, this feels like one of the most important projects I have ever worked on.” Watch a clip from that interview about the show here:
