The Kansas City Chiefs attended the annual ceremony for the Super Bowl winning team Monday at the White House, and one star player came prepared to send Joe Biden a message.
On a stage with Travis Kelce, Pat Mahomes, and Andy Reid, the biggest, most interesting, and definitely most entertaining statement was made by the Chiefs star kicker Harrison Butker.
It’s not as if Butker is an obscure player. In fact he may be the best at what he does. He was a seventh round pick of the Carolina Panthers in 2017, (kickers rarely get drafted) but didn’t make the team. The Chiefs plucked him off of the Panthers practice squad, and now he is the 4th most accurate kicker in league history. He has a cannon for a leg, and ice water in his veins.
Harrison Butker is also an outspoken advocate for the unborn. And while it is popular for professional athletes and celebrities to jump on the leftist cause du jour, Butker has stuck to his principles and beliefs, and hasn’t been afraid to say so.
At the White House ceremony, Butker put his beliefs on display and trolled Joe Biden with a message on his custom made tie that has caught the attention of the country.
Butker’s tie read “Vulnerari Praesidio” which is a rough translation of “For the protection of the vulnerable.” Butker is, of course, referring to the unborn specifically, and directing it at Joe Biden, as well.
Joe Biden, who professes to be an avowed Catholic, yet backs laws allowing women to abort a pregnancy for any reason, at any time, spoke to the gathered crowd while Butker stood directly behind him with his pro-life necktie, smiling like the cat that just ate the pro-abortion canary.

Harrison Butker is an avowed catholic, but not just in name only. He puts his money where his smiling mouth is. In the following video, Butker can be heard talking about voting “yes” on an amendment that would remove the right to abortion from the state constitution and allow Kansas residents to vote on the matter.

That is a rare stance for an athlete to take. Most, even if they believe it, are too cowardly or too interested in their own image to run afoul of the left.
In May, Butker also went viral after delivering an articulate, passionate speech at the Georgia Institute of Technology, stressing marriage and family values. He said: “Sadly, we are encouraged to live our lives for ourselves to move from one thing to another with no long-term commitment. To have loyalty for nothing but ourselves and sacrifice only when it suits our own interests. This loneliness is rooted in the lies being sold about self-dependence and prioritizing our career over important relationships,”
Talk about holding a mirror up to our current society!
Harrison Butker is a unicorn. The rare celebrity or athlete that is willing to put himself out there and protect those that can’t protect themselves. He does it all with wit, panache, style, and intelligence. It is just hard to get mad at the guy when he wears a pro-life tie and cheeses behind Joe Biden.
The Kansas City Chiefs are lucky to have Harrison Butker as their kicker, and the rest of us are lucky to have his as a spokesman for those without a voice.
