Star actress Kirstie Alley, known for her roles in “Cheers”, “Drop Dead Gorgeous”, and “Look Who’s Talking”, has passed away at 71 years old.
Her children shared a statement on social media to tell the world about their mothers passing after a long battle with cancer.
“We are sad to inform you that our incredible, fierce and loving mother has passed away after a battle with cancer, only recently discovered.
She was surrounded by her closest family and fought with great strength, leaving us with a certainty of her never-ending joy of living and whatever adventures lie ahead. As iconic as he was on screen, she was an even more amazing mother and grandmother.”
“Our mother’s zest and passion for life, her children, grandchildren and her many animals, not to mention her eternal joy of creating, were unparalleled and leave us inspired to live life to the fullest just as she did.”

Kirstie Alley came under fire from the liberal left due to her support for president trump.
Last year, she went onto Fox Nation to speak with Tucker Carlson about her determination to see Trump in the office again and how that got her blackballed from Hollywood, as shared by the Independent.
“People go, ‘You’re so brave.’ I go, ‘No, I think I’m stupid.’ It’s so strange to me because artists are free-thinkers, for the most part. You can be cooking meth and sleeping with hookers as long as apparently, you didn’t vote for Trump. I feel like I’m in The Twilight Zone a bit, with the whole concept of it.”
Alley received the Golden Globe Award in 1991 in the “Best Actress in a Television Series – Comedy or Musical” section for her work on “Cheers”. She also won the People’s Choice Award for “Favorite Female Television Performer” in the same year and again in 1998 for her role in Veronica’s Closet.
Among the responses to her death were many fond memories from notable people.
“I always admired the renegade spirit of #KirstieAlley and the way she fought hard and never backed down from her beliefs, while simultaneously keeping America laughing:) She will be truly missed” – John Rich
“Shocked and saddened by the news of Kirstie Alley.” – Travis Tritt
