Florida’s First Lady, Casey DeSantis, teamed up with former college and NFL standout Tim Tebow for his “Night to Shine” event meant to showcase the love of Jesus Christ. She took to Twitter to share some of the highlights of the event.
“It was an honor to host five beautiful ladies at the Governor’s Mansion as they got ready for @TimTebow’s worldwide Night to Shine 2023,” the Florida first lady tweeted. “We hope you had the best night, you certainly brightened ours!”
While emotionally- and maturationally-stunted leftists might immediately seize on the connection to either Tebow’s avowed faith or DeSantis’ politics, the event should be something that every decent human being would support. Tebow’s annual ‘Night to Shine’ gives young people with special needs to experience a prom-like night that they weren’t able to enjoy during high school due to their disabilities.
Seriously, what’s not to get behind? Tebow has hosted the event since 2015.
Breitbart reported that Tebow’s event reaches far beyond just the state of his hometown Florida, where he both attended college and played professionally.
Tebow’s “Night to Shine” events have been held yearly since 2015 to give special needs kids a chance to attend a high school prom-like night that many miss out on because of their disabilities. Since its inception, the events have spread to numerous countries and are held annually across the United States.
The prom night, centered on God’s love, is for people ages 14 and older with special needs. There is no age limit. Over the years, this ministry has served hundreds of thousands of individuals with disabilities.
This year, Tebow’s “Night to Shine” event saw more than 600 churches in 46 countries hosting tens of thousands of prom goers.

“It’s a dream come true to see so many people come together from around the world to experience this one night, and to see each face reflect the love of Christ in their joyful smiles,” Tebow said of the event.
“To the countless individuals who have come alongside us to make it possible, thank you for believing in the mission!” he added.
The First Lady is anything but a beautiful woman standing behind her politically adept and popular husband. Just the day before attending Tebow’s wonderful gala, Casey DeSantis hosted an awards ceremony that celebrated by giving five non-profits $10,000 to advance their work of guiding “Floridians on an individualized path to prosperity, economic self-sufficiency, and hope.”
The Tim Tebow Foundation describes the “Night to Shine” event as being open to “anyone living with disabilities, ages 14 and older.”
Night to Shine is a complimentary event for people with special needs hosted by local churches around the world. The event is open to anyone living with disabilities, ages 14 and older. Although each event is a little bit different, some activities included are a red carpet entrance, limousine rides, dancing, karaoke, gifts, a catered dinner, a Respite Room for parents and caregivers, a crowning ceremony where every honored guest will receive a crown or tiara, and more – Night to Shine is a celebration of God’s love for YOU, our Kings and Queens!
