President Trump flew into a rage and called for the arrest of former FBI Director Christopher Wray after reports from conservative media revealed the FBI secretly deployed 274 plainclothes agents into the January 6, 2021, Capitol riots. That revelation directly contradicts Christopher Wray’s repeated congressional denials of significant undercover presence.
Using these reports, Trump labeled it proof of a “January 6th Hoax,” accused the agents of acting as “agitators and insurrectionists,” and demanded complete identification of all the protesters. He slammed Wray as a liar alongside Comey and vowed a new investigation.
Most recently, that took the form of President Trump reposting, on Truth Social, a meme in which Pam Bondi was being yelled at and told to “just arrest somebody,” reflecting widespread concern with the idea that the attorney general has not done anything to hold the Deep State accountable.
Reposting the meme, the president wrote, “Wray lied!!!”, which came in response to the meme’s caption explaining that Christopher Wray had testified to Congress that the FBI had not placed agents in the crowd on January 6, which was directly contradicted by recent revelations. Check out the meme here:
This isn’t the first time that he has commented on the matter. In a major post on Truth Social back in September, President Trump said, “It was just revealed that the FBI had secretly placed, against all Rules, Regulations, Protocols, and Standards, 274 FBI Agents into the Crowd just prior to, and during, the January 6th Hoax.”
Calling back to the FBI director’s previous comments, Trump noted, “This is different from what Director Christopher Wray stated, over and over again! That’s right, as it now turns out, FBI Agents were at, and in, the January 6th Protest, probably acting as Agitators and Insurrectionists, but certainly not as ‘Law Enforcement Officials.'”

Explaining his next steps, the president promised to hold the FBI accountable. I want to know who each and every one of these so-called “Agents” are, and what they were up to on that now “Historic” Day. Many Great American Patriots were made to pay a very big price only for the love of their Country. I owe this investigation of “Dirty Cops and Crooked Politicians” to them!” Trump vowed.
Concluding his reaction, Trump said, “Christopher Wray, the then Director of the FBI, has some major explaining to do. That’s two in a row, Comey and Wray, who got caught LYING, with our Great Country at stake. WE CAN NEVER LET THIS HAPPEN TO AMERICA AGAIN!”
When news of this incident made it tos ocial media, conservatives were enraged by the FBI director’s dishonor. “It’s time to lock Christopher Wray up!!!” one user posted to widespread acclaim from frustrated Trump supporters.
Beginning his controversial testimony, which has recently come under scrutiny, Wray claimed to oppose “the politicization of the nation’s preeminent law enforcement agency.” Additionally, in his opening statement, Wray promised to reveal “what the FBI is doing to address … threats and what the FBI is doing to ensure that our people adhere to the highest of standards while it conducts its mission.”
Speaking at the time of the hearings, Republicans found the official narrative hard to believe. “I find that kind of a remarkable statement, director. At this point, you don’t know whether there were undercover federal agents, FBI agents in the crowd or in the Capitol on January 6?” Rep. Andy Biggs (R-AZ) pointed out.
Again, asking another question which Wray would not answer, Rep. Thomas Massie (R-TN) noted, “Some of the information that we found in that interview was that phone data that could have helped to identify the pipe bomber was corrupted, was unusable. He also wasn’t sure who found or how the second bomb was found at the DNC. Do you know how the second bomb was found at the DNC? And when do you plan on answering our letter?”
