“Call Out Crazy”: Democrat Civil War Begins as Mamdani-Endorsed Radicals Split the Party, Leading Even MS NOW Host to Skewer Democrat Senator for His Refusal to Denounce Socialist Radicals [WATCH]

Joe Scarborough, host of “Morning Joe” on MS NOW, along with his wife and co-host Mika Brzezinski, put Sen. Chris Murphy (D-CT) on blast during a recent episode of the program for not denouncing a democratic socialist who recently received the endorsement of New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani, urging Democrats to “call out crazy” within their own party.

Murphy pretended to be ignorant when he was asked about Darializa Avila Chevalier during his appearance on MS NOW’s “Meet the Press.” Avila Chevalier, a candidate for the House of Representatives who referred to former President Joe Biden as a “rapist” and “war criminal” also questioned the nation of Israel’s right to exist in several now-deleted social media posts.

“Yeah, well, I mean, I’m not super familiar with that race. All I’m saying is that this party has to have a real contest of ideas and I just don’t think that our defense of incrementalism has worked, so I don’t mind a contest of ideas,” Murphy said during an interview with MS NOW fill-in host Ryan Nobles. Murphy then claimed that Democratic candidates in New York are standing up for American democracy.

“I will say, though, what binds together I think every Democratic candidate that is running, including the ones in New York, is that they are standing up to protect American democracy, and right now, the biggest threat to this country is not a handful of House candidates in New York,” he said. Scarborough ripped into Murphy in an X post for not standing against such a contentious radical left-winger.

He also accused the Democratic Party of hypocrisy for not being willing to criticize individuals within their own party. “This is what frightened Republicans do when confronted with horrid things Donald Trump has said. Now Democratic senators are saying this about a congressional candidate who accused Joe Biden of rape?? Stop. Now,” Scarborough said in the post, according to a report from the New York Post.

“Memo to Democrats: Call out crazy even when it’s on your side – especially when it’s on your side. Voters will reward you for being better than Republicans,” he wrote, going on to add: “Be better than Trump’s cowards.” Scarborough’s wife and co-host Mika Brzezinski also took aim at Murphy during the “Morning Joe,” accusing him of gaslighting American voters.

“Voters are gonna have to decide where the line is, what’s the deal breaker,” she stated during a segment of the show. “In this case, I think it’s pretty clear. Some of these statements are complete deal breakers and it’s not hard to say.” She then added that “one of the most frustrating things” is when people who have repeatedly voted for President Donald Trump “act shocked about the cruelty of the mass deportations” or “act shocked about the tariffs,” claiming they don’t watch the news.

“That is the most gaslighting experience one can ever, ever see … because pretending you haven’t seen it is impossible. It’s an out, and now to see a Democrat doing it – and we both love Chris Murphy, we think he’s a great guy and serves our country, but don’t gaslight people,” she continued. Avila Chevalier recently beat Rep. Adriano Espaillat in the Democratic primary race for a seat covering Uptown Manhattan and part of the Bronx, thanks in large part to being endorsed by Mamdani.
