CA Democrats Block Crucial Legislation Protecting Children

In a shameful decision that shocked the nation, California Democrats introduced a bill that would make s*x trafficking a misdemeanor offense for a 16 or 17-year-old child. News of this sickening proposal went viral on social media, and conservatives jumped at the chance to decry the horrible law.

For context, California is one of the most liberal states in the union and has been ruined by decades of soft-on-crime laws. For instance, cities such as San Francisco decriminalized open drug use and petty theft, creating a massive crime spree that made the town almost unlivable.

Reacting to the scandal, Benny Johnson, a popular conservative podcaster, posted his reaction to X on April 29, 2025. Johnson said, “I’m at a loss for words,” and included a screenshot of an article covering the proposed bill.

In the comments under his post, conservatives lost their minds at the insanity of the woke bill. Brimming with rage, one user wrote, “WHY WOULD THEY DO THAT!?!?!? Keep in mind they didn’t kill the bill, JUST the felony part… so the ONLY THING the DEMOCRATS took offense to was CHILD S*X TRAFFICKING BEING A FELONY. That’s… SO WEIRD.”

Reacting with righteous anger, one user slammed the Democrats for supporting this horrible bill. The comment read, “@CAgovernor @GavinNewsom What is it about you Democrats that makes you compelled to defend to your last breath the most evil monsters humanity produces???”

Justifiably angry, one woman expressed her rage in a lengthy comment. She wrote, “I’m not at a loss for words! 😡Any Congress person or politician, elected by We The People of the United States of America who votes for such an atrocity that a Third World country would allow needs to be immediately revoked of any further voting privileges or representation of any American citizen, State County or region.”

Poking a hole in the deeply unethical bill, one user questioned why 16 and 17 year olds were singled out. The reply stated, “Apparently if you are 10th grade an lower, trafficking is not ok. But it’s ok to traffic 11th and 12th graders. Somehow 16 and 17 year olds are not minors when it comes to trafficking, in every other way they’re considered a minor.”

Rounding out the comments on social media, one response blasted the Democrats for supporting this bill. The user wrote, “Wow!! The Democrats have lost their minds. All we can do is pray for them They have practiced lawfulness for so long they think it is okay and put their sins in our faces daily with smirks. They do not care about the quality of life for the for the people. It is all about loosing the life style they have made for themselves. THEY DO NOT CARE ABOUT NOTHING BUT THEMSELVES.”

Following the example of conservatives on X, some politicians objected to the bill. Democrat Maggy Kell, who spent decades fighting trafficking, instituted a new bill to propose harsher sentences for abusers. She said, “It’s a disgrace, I’ve been doing this for 20 years, and I’m not going to quit now. And I am going to bring this part of this bill back every year until I get the books to protect children. That’s what I’m going to do,”
