Left-wing rock and roll legend Bruce Springsteen took the stage at a recent concert held in Minneapolis that was put together by Rage Against the Machine guitarist Tom Morello, where he played his new anti-ICE and anti-Trump protest song for the very first time. Before he performed “Streets of Minneapolis,” Springsteen said, “I wrote this song and I recorded it the next day, and I sent it to Tom Morello.”
The singer then said that he told Morello, “I think it’s kinda soapboxy.” Morello replied, “Bruce, nuance is wonderful, but sometimes you have to kick them in the teeth.” The proceeds from the guitarist’s concert were given to the families of anti-ICE agitators Renee Good and Alex Pretti, who were killed after assaulting Immigration and Customs Enforcement officers during protests of operations being carried out to remove dangerous criminal illegals from the streets.
While Springsteen is still a high-selling act, his appearance was not openly billed and he was simply listed as a “special guest” in promotional material for the event. The New Jersey rocker not only played his anti-ICE song, packed full of anti-ICE propaganda, but performed “The Ghost of Tom Joad” with Morello on guitar and John Lennon’s “Power To The People.”
According to a report from Breitbart News, Morello, an open left-wing extremist, also joined Springsteen in May 2025 to attack President Donald Trump in the city of Boston, with a stage backdrop emblazoned with the phrase “F*** Trump.” Morello is also known for his support of the “Free Palestine” movement and has expressed face-scanning technology fears.
Years ago, in June 2018, the guitarist also suggested that leftists should essentially push groups of children in front of ICE agents in order to prevent them from carrying out immigration law enforcement operations. In 2016, Morello was heard hailing cruel, murderous Cuban dictator Fidel Castro as a “hero.” A report from NewsNation posted some of the lyrics from Springsteen’s new song, which included a line that said, “Trump’s federal thugs beat upon his face and chest, then we heard the gunshots and Alex Pretti lay dead in the snow.”
“Their claim was self-defense, sir, just don’t believe your eyes. It’s our blood and bones and these whistles and phones against Miller and Noem’s dirty lies,” the lyrics continued. Department of Homeland Security spokesperson Tricia McLaughlin previously spoke with the media on the matter, saying, “We eagerly await Mr. Springsteen’s songs dedicated to the thousands of American citizens killed by criminal illegal aliens.”
“Every day, the brave men and women of ICE are saving lives by arresting the worst of the worst criminal illegal aliens, including murderers, rapists, pedophiles, drug dealers, gang members, and terrorists,” she added. Springsteen also made a series of anti-Trump remarks during a concert in Manchester, England, where he played songs from a recent EP titled “Land of Hopes & Dreams.”

“Tonight, we ask all who believe in democracy and the best of our American experience to rise with us, raise your voices against authoritarianism and let freedom ring,” Springsteen told the crowd.
