Attorney General Pam Bondi recently urged New York Governor Kathy Hochul and other Democratic opponents to “bring it on” after their responses to legal challenges from the Trump administration. As background, Hochul and Illinois Governor JB Pritzker have pushed back on Bondi’s efforts to enforce immigration law in accordance with the president’s deportation agenda.
Bondi recently appeared on Fox News, where she addressed the retaliation from the state leaders. The administration has faced pushback from the state of New York and the state of Illinois, the city of New York and the city of Chicago, all of which have interfered with the federal governments efforts to arrest illegal aliens.
Bondi previously sued New York and its officials over its “Green Light Law” which allowed illegal immigrants to obtain driver’s licenses without fear of ICE retaliation. Speaking about the lawsuit, Hochul said, “We expect Pam Bondi’s worthless, publicity-driven lawsuit to be a total failure, just like all the others. Let me be clear, New York is not backing down.”
Similarly, Jamie Pritzker said, “Unlike Donald Trump, we follow the law in Illinois now maybe they put up with this kind of garbage in Florida, which is the home state of the head of the DOJ, but in Illinois, we have grit, we are tough, we are strong, and Donald Trump has no idea what he’s up against when he attacks Illinois.”
Responding to these statements, Bondi said, “Bring it on.” She vowed, “We are going to protect Americans. When they say they’re tough and they have grit, really, they’re protecting illegal aliens over American citizens. Not going to happen under Donald Trump’s administration. We will find illegal aliens and we will deport them in Illinois, in New York and in other states, and you better comply with federal law, or you’re going to be next.”
She added, “We’ve spoken loud and clear. We are sick and tired of Americans being murdered and these states protecting illegal aliens. Talk to the family of Lake and Riley and all of these other young women and men who have been murdered by illegal aliens and 60 What you think then when you want to protect them.”
The American Tribune previously reported on other comments from Hochul when me with the trump administration. She said, “It was an adversarial meeting, but I was very clear, especially after I found that the Trump administration had ended a program that was put in place, congestion pricing, by the duly elected members of our legislature representing the voice of the people, and with a tweet, he claims that he is the king, and therefore he has the power to destroy it.”

She continued, “And I have a problem with that characterization, because we labored under a king 250 years ago, and as I said, we’re not going back there. So I wanted to take my case to him directly and let him see the benefits of this program, because our city is paralyzed with gridlock, and we had a path forward to be able to make the city move again, and it’s working.”’
