In another infuriating incident out of the very woke state of New York, far-left New York Attorney General Letitia James announced that she would be suing the Trump Administration over its cuts to the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), a major plank of the administration’s cost-cutting strategy.
Such is what the habitually anti-Trump DA announced in both a press release and video, absurdly arguing that the Trump Administration’s decision to cut thousands of useless employees and many wasteful programs is putting people at risk, and bizarrely insisting that New York and its woke allies, here 19 other states, have a right to determine federal policy.
Describing the suit in the press release, James and her office claimed that it was “unconstitutional” for Trump and RFK Jr. to slash waste in HHS, saying, “New York Attorney General Letitia James today led a coalition of 19 other attorneys general in filing a lawsuit challenging the Trump administration’s unconstitutional dismantling of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS).”
Continuing, James went berserk over the firings RFK Jr. famously engaged in, saying, “Since taking office, Secretary Robert F. Kennedy, Jr. and the Trump administration have fired thousands of federal health workers, shuttered life-saving programs, and abandoned states to face mounting health crises without federal support.”
She addedthat the cuts were “irrational,” an absurd contention, claiming,” Last month, the administration escalated its attack on the department, launching a reckless, irrational, and dangerous restructuring that, in a single day, erased decades of public health progress and left HHS unable to execute many of its most vital functions. Attorney General James and the coalition argue that Secretary Kennedy and the Trump administration have robbed HHS of the resources necessary to effectively serve the American people and will be asking the court to halt the dismantling before even more lives are put at risk.”
In a statement on the matter of the cuts and her suit, James alleged that trying to slash waste, fraud, and abuse in HHS is “sabotating” healthcare in America, claiming, “This administration is not streamlining the federal government; they are sabotaging it and all of us.”
She added, on much the same note, “When you fire the scientists who research infectious diseases, silence the doctors who care for pregnant patients, and shut down the programs that help firefighters and miners breathe or children thrive, you are not making America healthy – you are putting countless lives at risk.” Watch James here:

Slamming NY AG James for the suit, Rep. Wessley Hunt, in a post on X in which he noted her current mortgage fraud woes, said, “Letitia James is suing Trump’s HHS—while she herself is under investigation for mortgage fraud. The hypocrisy is stunning. I guess Tish thinks the law only applies to her political enemies.”
Noting in comments to Fox News Channel that the suit is absurd, former Kentucky AG David Cameron said, “Look, this is patently absurd, what Letitia James is doing in New York related to this potential lawsuit. To your point, these are proposed cuts, they haven’t even been set in stone. So the fact that she is doing this just shows how desperate she is and trying to distract from her own legal woes that she has right now.” Watch him here:
