Tucker, when asked by The Daily Mail what his career plans are now that he’s been fired from Fox News, joked around and said that retirement was going well for him and his plans are “appetizers plus entree” at dinner with his wife.
But Florida Rep. Matt Gaetz took to Twitter Friday morning to suggest that Tucker has far, far more in mind for his future. Rep. Gaetz said, in a tweet that racked up 200k views in an hour, “OMG wait till everyone sees what @TuckerCarlson has planned…”
Commenting on Rep. Gaetz’s post and guessing at what is going on with Tucker, people said things like:
“Did he and Elon get together? That’s my guess. The start of the new news station X TV? Available on Twitter?”
“This firing has made Tucker Carlson even more powerful. People have looked into the issues the controversial issues that he alone daringly covered.”
“An O’Keefe/OMG collaboration??”
That last one might be on point, as Gaetz did start his tweet with “OMG” and O’Keefe, fired from Project Veritas like Tucker was fired from Fox News, started a new media company called O’Keefe Media Group, or OMG. Whether Gaetz was hinting at that or simply meant “Oh My Gosh/Oh My God” is unclear, but it could have been a subtle, hidden reference.
James O’Keefe, announcing OMG shortly after being fired by the Project Veritas board, said:
“The irony of the acorn story is that it took a 25-year-old with a hidden camera a few days to do what billion-dollar networks and journalists could not do. In a decade. I spent 14 years creating the most effective nonprofit newsroom this country has ever seen and in paving the way to establish citizen journalism, I have been defamed, arrested, rated and ultimately removed from the organization I spent so much time developing credibility of.
“I always knew they would try to ruin the reputations of those who expose them, the pharma giants, the three-letter government agencies and those who I thought I could trust. But, in response, we are going to build an army of investigators and exposures. They have awakened Sleeping Giant, and back.
“Remaining by my side are a small, tight-knit group of the most elite journalists in the world. exposing corruption requires standing up to power because power hates sunlight. We are Sunlife Welcome to the O’Keefe Media Group, where we will never be shut down. Because not only do I own it, but you own it to support us and sponsor our army of journalists by becoming a founding member today.”

If Tucker were to somehow partner with OMG and O’Keefe, that would make sense in the context of his recent video, in which he said:
“Good evening. It’s Tucker Carlson, one of the first things you realize when you step outside the noise for a few days is how many genuinely nice people there are in this country, kind of decent people, people who really care about what’s true and a bunch of hilarious people. Also, a lot of those, it’s got to be the majority of population even now. So that’s heartening.”
“The other thing you notice when you take a little time off is how unbelievably stupid most of the debates you see on television are, they’re completely irrelevant. They mean nothing. In five years, we won’t even remember that we had them, trust me as someone who’s participated, and yet the same time.
“And this is the amazing thing, the undeniably big topics, the ones that will define our future, get virtually no discussion at all war, civil liberties, emerging science, demographic change, corporate power, natural resources. When was the last time you heard a legitimate debate about any of those issues? It’s been a long time.
“Debates like that are not permitted in American media. Both political parties and their donors have reached consensus on what benefits them, and they actively collude to shut down any conversation about it. Suddenly, the United States looks very much like a one-party state.”
“That’s a depressing realization. But it’s not permanent. Our current orthodoxies won’t last. They’re brain dead, nobody actually believes them. Hardly anyone’s life is improved by them. This moment is to inherently ridiculous to continue.
“And so it won’t. The people in charge know this. That’s why they’re hysterical and aggressive. They’re afraid. They’ve given up persuasion, they’re resorting to force, but it won’t work. When honest people say what’s true calmly and without embarrassment, they become powerful.
“At the same time, the liars who’ve been trying to silence them shrink and they become weaker. That’s the iron law of the universe. True things prevail. Where can you still find American saying true things? There are many places left but there are some and that’s enough. As long as you can hear the words there is hope. See you soon.”

So, is Tucker joining up with OMG to take on the controversial, important topics that the MSM refuses to cover and politicians don’t want to discuss? I guess we’ll have to wait and see…
