In some stunning news for fans of professional wrestling, famous wrestler and high-profile Trump supporter Hulk Hogan has passed away at the age of 71. His passing was announced around the late morning on Thursday, July 24, leading to an outpouring of surprise and emotion online, with many not suspecting his death given the relative dearth of announced health issues the Hulkster has faced.
TMZ broke the news of the Hulkster’s passing, reporting that he died of cardiac arrest on Thursday morning and paramedics had been dispatched to his home in Clearwater, FL. The outlet provided: “Medics were dispatched to the 71-year-old WWE legend’s Clearwater, Florida home early Thursday morning … with operators stating it was regarding a ‘cardiac arrest.‘”
Further, TMZ reported that Mr. Hogan was carried out of his house on a stretcher by paramedics and into a waiting ambulance, with a great deal of emergency response vehicles outside his home. It is unclear if he passed away in his home from the cardiac arrest event or passed away shortly after the paramedics evacuated him via ambulance. TMZ reported: “We’re told a slew of police cars and EMTs were parked outside Hogan’s home … and the icon was carried on a stretcher and into an ambulance.”
Interestingly, the wrestling star’s passing came just weeks after TMZ reported that, contrary to rumors, he was not on his deathbed. That came in response to local radio guy Bubba the Love Spong claiming in mid-June that Hulk Hogan is in the hospital, and “might not make it.” Reporting on that at the time, TMZ noted: “A rep for Hogan tells us the 71-year-old isn’t close to death — he’s just dealing with more of the same ailments he’s had for years. In fact, we’re told Hogan’s back to moving around already.”
Tributes to Mr. Hogan poured in online, particularly via X. One such post, for example, said, “#Hulk #Hogan🙏💔🙏 Hogan was a genuine, uniquely American creation. Fearlessly original. Flawed but unbowed. He had the courage to stand on his own principles, he never stopped fighting for his country. An American icon. He will be missed. R.I.P”
Similarly, another commenter praised Hogan for making professional wrestling what it now is with his wonderful charm and energy, saying, “Rest in peace legend. You will forever be missed @HulkHogan Thanks for setting the first stones. Without you, wrestling wouldn’t be what it is today. Forever a hulkamaniac đź’› Thank you, brother. ❤️”
On much the same note, still another poster said, “Hulk Hogan is reportedly dead after suffering cardiac arrest in his Florida home. RIP to the man who put professional wrestling on the map and inspired an entire generation. This Hulk up against The Rock literally gives me chills every time.”

Praising Trump and roasting Biden at the RNC event where Trump was made the GOP nominee, Hogan, who ripped off his shirt to reveal a MAGA shirt underneath, said, “This November guys, we can say the American Dream for everyone, and Donald Trump is the president who will get the job done. So all you criminals, all you lowlifes, all you scumbags, all you drug dealers and all you crooked politicians need to answer one question, brother, what you’re gonna do when Donald Trump and all the Trump maniacs run wild on you, brother,” he concluded. “God bless you and thank you.” Watch him here:
