George Allan Kelly is the Arizona rancher who the state alleges shot and killed an illegal alien after the illegal aliens had trespasses and were on his property near his house. Some reports state that he has also be harassed by illegal immigrants. Regardless, h’es now the one sitting in jail on a million dollar bond, not the illegals that invaded the country.
Mr. Kelly’s wife is still alive and lives at the ranch. He asked that his $1 million bail be lowered so that she is not at home defenseless and prey to the same sort of illegal immigrants he tried to defend his ranch from, saying “She’s there by herself … nobody to take care of her, the livestock. Or the ranch. And I’m not going anywhere. I can’t come up with a million dollars. Is there … Would you consider reducing it to any degree?”
Predictably, the woke judge refused and so Mr. Kelly remains locked up on the $1 million bond. Mr. Kelly’s lawyer has said that Mr. Kelly denied shooting the illegal immigrant, saying that her client “admitted to firing warning shots at the smugglers earlier in the day, but denied firing any shot at any person.” Continuing, she said that “He does not believe that any of his warning shots could have possibly hit the person or caused the death. All the shooting that Mr. Kelly did on the date of the incident was in self-defense and justified.”
Mr. Kelly’s wife has plead for help, saying “My name is Wanda Correll Kelly. George Alan Kelly (I call him “Alan”) is my husband of 52 years. Alan is a man devoted to his family, animals, and home. In his 74 years, he has been an upstanding member of his community and, more importantly, a rock to our family. He is a humble person with simple needs. He likes socks. He is an animal lover. He has two dogs. One named Hound (“Wolf-Hound”) and the other named Bear (“Bear-Colt”). He has a 29 year old horse named Sonny. He cried when our cat, Monkey, had to be put down five months ago. Alan and I are living a nightmare. He has been accused of a serious crime, and he is innocent. We are private people and are horrified about some of things being said about him in the media. We need funds for his legal defense and other related expenses that have arisen as a result of this terrible situation. Please help Alan come back home. “
Fortunately for Mr. Kelly and his wife, the public has taken an interest in his case and is on his side. A Change.org petitioin that has already garnered nearly 10,000 signatures, for example, said:
GEORGE ALAN KELLY is a 73-year-old rancher that lives in Nogales, AZ, on the border of Mexico. He has been trying to protect his family and ranch from illegal aliens, that have REPEATEDLY TRESPASSED and HARRASSED him. He allegedly shot and killed a trespasser. HE IS THE ONE SITTING IN JAIL! Not the illegal aliens. He is being held on $1,000,000.00 bail.
It is a tragedy that a simple farmer, who should be protected by the government has been abandoned and must defend himself. The government’s decision to open the borders caused this and the government now wishes to persecute him. They are holding this 73-year-old farmer on $1,000,000.00 bail, which anyone can see is purely political. His wife is there by herself with nobody to protect her, the livestock, or the ranch.
RELEASE GEORGE ALAN KELLY FROM JAIL!!
The creator of that petition also created a SpotFund fundraiser for Mr. Kelly. It has raised about $30,500 and has a $1 million goal. Mr. Kelly will also receive funding for his legal help from a GiveSendGo created by the same person that has brought in nearly $40,000.
