Republican congresswoman Lauren Boebert appears poised to stave off a closer-than-expected reelection effort and return to Congress for another two years. Despite trailing her “conservative” Democrat challenger Adam Frisch for most of the week, late-counted ballots have tended to favor the incumbent and pushed her to the lead.
As of this morning, Boebert has seemingly ended the deficit and gone ahead by 1,122 votes with more than 99% of the precincts reporting.
UPDATE: Rep. Lauren Boebert (R) leads challenger Adam Frisch (D) by 1,229 votes with an estimated 98% reporting.

UPDATE: Rep. Lauren Boebert (R) leads challenger Adam Frisch (D) by 1,229 votes with an estimated 98% reporting.
As Yahoo! News wrote, Boebert’s crucial race for Republican control of the House has featured a lot of tension, and is so close it might necessitate a recount.
Lauren Boebert has said she is confident she will hold onto her House seat as she widens her lead against Democratic challenger Adam Frisch – but the unexpected upset race continues to be too close to call…
Boebert is now leading by 1,122 votes in what has shaped up to be surprisingly close race for the US House seat in Colorado’s 3rd Congressional District.
After trailing for much of the race, the Donald Trump ally clawed her way back to a lead on Thursday, now leading with 50.2 per cent of votes to Mr Frisch’s 49.8 per cent, with 99 per cent of votes reported.
The race could be headed for an automatic recount if the victorious party fails to win by a margin of more than 0.5 per cent.
If Boebert’s re-election efforts are successful, she will provide another huge vote in what appears to be the formation of a Republican-controlled House. As of this morning, CNN reported that Republicans had so far picked up 16 new seats from Democrats – losing 4 to Democrats for a net gain of 12 – and were currently leading their political opponents with a total of 211 seats to 198.
Boebert’s victory would provide Republicans with an assured 212 seats on their path to a clear majority. 218 are required for control of the lower chamber.
While the media is trying to present this unexpectedly close race as an indictment against Donald Trump, the MAGA movement, and Boebert herself, one key element not being mentioned is that Colorado’s 3rd district was realigned following her 2020 victory. In other words, she is not merely running with the same voters; indeed, the blue Colorado legislator very likely made her path to reelection more difficult on purpose. Wikipedia shows a before and after of the 3rd district on their website, and it features the inclusion of much more left-leaning areas south of Denver near Pueblo.
The redistricting naturally precluded Boebert from coasting to victory since she was now competing against a heavily-blue geopolitical landscape in the surrounding Pueblo area.
According to the Cook Political Report, her district is “solidly red” and carried Donald Trump in both 2016 and 2020 with about 53% and 52% of the vote, respectively.
