In a race where every vote counts, Blake Masters picked up the Libertarian Party candidate’s endorsement after bowing out of the race one week ahead of midterms. Marc Victor, who was consistently polling around 1%, threw his weight and movement behind the freedom-oriented Masters as just seven days remain before Arizona’s toss-up, and potentially Senate tie-breaking, election takes place.
Some might scoff at 1%, but when this race will likely be decided in the 51-49% range, anything and everything helps, particularly when Masters was able to close the polling gap after his monstrous debate performance against Kelly, whose leftist and Biden-supporting ways are indefensible in front of voters.
In any event, it’s more support than Masters has gotten from Mitch McConnell. McConnell inexcusably pulled funding from Arizona earlier this summer, noting other races were more competitive. However, it cannot have hurt that Masters aligns himself with the burgeioning MAGA movement.
Speaking to his supporters from YouTube, Victor commented:
“I’ve said from the very beginning that the reason I’m running for senate is to promote and get us in the direction of freedom and peace and civility…[Masters] really is — in his heart and in his mind — he’s in favor of doing everything he can to get us very sternly, very smartly in the direction of ‘live and let live.’ And that seems like a good tradeoff to me.”
It will be interesting to see how this endorsement shapes the final outcomes of the race. As mentioned, Masters has been consistently trailing in polls, but saw a surge in support following his fantastic appearance on the debate stage in his one and only contest against the incumbent Kelly.
Newsweek had recapped that night and the post-debate polling results:
Blake Masters’ chances of winning the Arizona Senate race improved after he debated opponent Sen. Mark Kelly earlier this month, according to polls.
Polls released since the October 6 debate show that one of the most important midterm contests between Kelly, a retired astronaut, and venture capitalist Masters has gotten significantly tighter, with just over a week to go until election day.
According to an average of recent polls compiled by RealClearPolitics, Masters was trailing his rival by 1.5 points on Monday.
Notably, the same poll gave Kelly a six-point advantage on debate day, as it were, but closed that gap to just 1.5 points on debate night. That’s not a small shift.
And again, with such tight polling, an easily-dismissed endorsement from a candidate earning 1% of the vote might just be the tipping point in Arizona’s Senate election. The Libertarian Party doesn’t always align with the Republican Party. In fact, they lump them in with Democrats more than not.
For Mark Victor to endorse Blake Masters, two things are happening that I like. For starters, Masters is the real deal. He is a guy who will prioritize individual freedom. And for another, there is a reckoning that leftist is the real threat to America right now. Whatever past political alliances used to exist, we all need to come together to defeat the corrupt and tyrannical movement currently figure headed by Joe Biden.
