The bodies of the drummer for Lotus. Chuck Morris, and his 20-year-old son were just found and recovered from Beaver Lake in Arkansas after 24 days of search and recovery efforts. The Benton County Sheriff’s Office announced the successful recovery of the bodies on its Facebook page, saying:

“Major Kenneth Paul led the search efforts utilizing many resources from across the nation and organized the daily operations of these efforts. Yesterday, efforts were combined with Carroll County MDS and Christian Aid Ministries Search and Rescue Team (CAM SAR) out of Tennessee. They were able to utilize their Underwater ROV in a challenging environment that exceeded depths of 180’.
“After 24 days of recovery efforts, the bodies of both Charles Morris IV (Chuck-Father) and Charles Morris V (Charley-son) have been recovered thanks to the technology and efforts by all personnel.
“Sheriff Holloway, along with the family of Chuck and Charley, would like to thank all the men and women who donated their time and efforts to help bring closure to the family and recover the two missing men.

After an exhaustive search led by the Benton County Sheriff’s Office and Arkansas Game and Fish Commission, the family and the commanders leading the search and recovery activities are in agreement as to the fate and probable location of Chuck and Charley. The weather and other elements created a perfect storm on the lake, and in the lake, that was unsurvivable. The community, authorities, and organizations that specialize in finding loved ones are continuing recovery efforts to bring Chuck and Charley home.

The Lost Bridge area community around Beaver Lake has been immensely supportive of our family and loved ones, and we are grateful for their contributions and foundation they have given us to be successful with the search and now moving forward. We are overwhelmed by the love from around the world for Chuck and Charley, and we will celebrate their lives and contributions to the world in gatherings that will be announced in coming days and weeks. The family wishes to thank all friends, rescue personnel, volunteers, and the communities surrounding Beaver Lake for their strength and support. As a family, we are deeply grieving but have been heartened by all the love and tributes that have been sent our way for Chuck and Charley. We love you all. Please also continue supporting the Lotus community that was Chuck’s passion, and the Ohio Wesleyan University community that Charley dearly loved. Thank you for keeping them all in your hearts and prayers.

Dearest friends, family, and supporters, our friends are in need of deep prayer and financial support.
On the morning of March 16th, Chuck and Charley Morris went kayaking on Beaver Lake (AR), and have not yet returned. Search efforts are still underway, and Jenny and family could use all the prayer you can muster.
They could also use financial support. Please help however you see fit.
The family is grieving and appreciates all your support, but understand there will be communication delays due to the circumstances. Please refer to this page for the most current updates, or contact Jen Lamboy.
Lots of love to all of you.
