Blue State Democrats Withdraw Motion to Honor March as National Women’s Month after Republicans Press Them to Define What a Woman Is

On March 24, 2026, Pennsylvania House Democrats abruptly withdrew a resolution honoring March as National Women’s History Month after Republican Rep. Aaron Bernstine proposed a straightforward amendment defining “woman” biologically as an adult human female with double XX chromosomes.

Speaker Joanna McClinton declared the resolution “temporarily over” after an awkward pause, triggering laughter on the House floor. What was meant to be a quick, symbolic vote became a viral moment exposing Democratic hypocrisy.

In any case, the clip began with a Fox News anchor announcing, “A battle over biology in battleground Pennsylvania, where state Democrats withdrew a House resolution honoring March as National Women’s Month.”

Building on this point, the reporter noted, “All it took was a Republican lawmaker asking for a simple definition of what a woman is. The vote was expected to be quick and largely symbolic, but it was polled after this awkward 25-second break.”

In any case, one of the Republican lawmakers stated, “Madam Speaker, this amendment is very straightforward and clear. It defines what a woman actually is, because we do know what that is,” showing off basic common sense.

A Democrat whined, “Thank you. The resolution is temporarily over. There you go. They pulled the whole thing.” At this point the reporter interjected, “The Republican who put forth the amendment says defining a woman is having double X chromosomes should not be controversial.”

Reacting to the clip, conservative influencer Libs of TikTok stated, “JUST IN: Democrats in Pennsylvania withdrew a resolution to honor March as National Women’s Month after a Republican asked them what a woman is. You cannot make this up 🤣🤣”

However, this is far from the only bizarre situation coming from Pennsylvania. As we reported in the American Tribune, Sen. John Fetterman (D-PA) publicly supports basic photo voter ID, stating it is “not unreasonable” and citing strong public backing. However, he voted against a Senate voter ID amendment and opposes the broader SAVE America Act.

“Now, me, as a Democrat, I do not believe that it’s unreasonable to show ID just to vote. If you had a clean bill just showing your ID to vote, you would support that legislation,” he said in a seemingly reasonable comment.

Fetterman continued, “I’m not [that kind of] Democrat. That’s not going to freak out. You know, the world didn’t end. What happened in Wisconsin and in Georgia, for example, Georgia, which I think read, I think we’d agree, and after the law, they elected two Democratic senators too.”

However, later, walking back these remarks, he added, “83% of Americans agree on voter ID. 71% of Democrats agree on voter ID. Keep it basic: PHOTO ID to vote. Stop turning this into a Christmas list and attacking vote-by-mail. If the GOP wants real reform over a show vote––put out a clean, standalone bill and I’m AYE.”
