Fox News host Laura Ingraham recently revealed that she was sidelined from her smash hit program “The Ingraham Angle” and its ninth anniversary celebration due to a horrible case of laryngitis. Ingraham, who is 63-year-old, spoke about her absence last Friday after viewers noticed she missed several days of her show on the network.
The die-hard conservative commentator took to social media to explain that issues with her voice forced her to take some time away from the program during a very busy news week. “Sorry because of laryngitis I missed the past three days (terrible timing!),” Ingraham stated in a post published on Friday. Laryngitis is when the voice box becomes inflamed and leads to hoarseness, throat discomfort or a potential temporary loss of voice.
The illness prevented Ingraham from being able to host the show on its ninth anniversary, which was on October 30, 2026. The conservative pundit thanked all her viewers, her staff, and the folks at Fox News for supporting the program for so many years on the network. “Thank you to our loyal viewers, dedicated staff, and @FoxNews!” she said in her post.
According to a report from the Conservative Brief, Ingraham also took an opportunity to inform her followers that she was hoping to return to the program on Monday evening, saying she expected to be “Back from New York on Monday night.” She wrapped up the post by exhorting her fans and Americans everywhere to fulfill their civic duty on Election Day, simply stating, “Vote!”
Her post also included a photo showing flowers, a card, and several decorated cookies that were sent to her while she was recovering as a means of lifting her spirits. One of the cookies was decorated to look like Ingraham inside of a television screen, while another commemorated her Fox News program, saying, “The Ingraham Angle 9 Years” on it.
Her illness struck at a rather inconvenient time as the midterm elections will be held on Tuesday, November 3. This particular cycle is shaping up to be a particularly spicy one with the fate of Congress on the line in a huge way. Fox has been expanding political coverage ahead of Election Day as voters gear up to cast their ballots all across the nation.
“The Ingraham Angle” made its debut on Fox back in October 2017, giving the host her own primetime show after years of being a prominent conservative radio and television commentator. Ingraham was already a longtime associate of Fox News, having been involved with the outlet for over a decade before having her own show, joining the network as a contributor in 2007.
