The House Oversight Committee, which is run by Rep. James Comer, just came out with a new report on what it has discovered about now-President Joe Biden’s contact with Hunter Biden and Hunter’s business partners over the Burisma issue while Biden was Obama’s Vice President.
The report, which was posted to X (formerly known as Twitter) and released as a press release, claims that “Joe Biden’s VP staff colluded with Hunter’s business partner on Burisma corruption media response.” Continuing, it demands the National Archives provide the documents at issue, saying, “@RepJamesComer is calling on the National Archives to provide complete and unredacted documents related to the Office of the Vice President colluding with the Biden family and their business associates.”
Giving an example of that collusion between Hunter’s business partners and then-VP Biden’s staff, the report added, “In one example, on December 4, 2015, Eric Schwerin, a longtime Biden family business associate, wrote to Kate Bedingfield in the Office of the Vice President, providing quotes the White House should use in response to media outreach regarding Hunter Biden’s role in Burisma. Later that day, Ms. Bedingfield responded to Mr. Schwerin saying, ‘VP signed off on this[.]‘”
Giving another example of the sort of collusion it alleges occurred, the report claimed, “According to Devon Archer, after a Burisma board of directors meeting in Dubai on the evening of December 4, 2015, Hunter Biden “called D.C.” to discuss pressure that Burisma asked him to relieve.”
The report then returned to what Rep. Comer is demanding the National Archives provides, saying, “In the letter to the U.S. Archivist, Chairman Comer is requesting the documents and information below regarding communications between the Office of the Vice President and Hunter Biden or his business associates.”
Getting more specific about what Comer is demanding from the National Archives, the post enumerates such documents as, “Complete and unredacted versions of all documents from Records on Hunter Biden, James Biden, and their Foreign Business Dealings, Case Number 2022-0121-F;” “All documents and communications to or from the Executive Office of the President (including but not limited to the Office of the Vice President) to, from, copying or regarding Eric Schwerin, Devon Archer, Vuk Jeremic, John Robinson “Rob” Walker, or Jeffrey Cooper;” “All documents and communications to or from Kate Bedingfield, Michael Carpenter, Kathy Chung, Amos Hochstein, Colin Kahl, and Alexander Mackler to, from, copying or regarding Hunter Biden or James Biden;” and “All executive calendars created for then-Vice President Joe Biden dating from January 20, 2009 to January 20, 2017.”

Rep. Comer, commenting on what the House Oversight Committee has found so far, said, “Joe Biden never built an ‘absolute wall’ between his family’s business dealings and his official government work – his office doors were wide open to Hunter Biden’s associates. There is evidence of collusion in the efforts to spin media stories about Burisma’s corruption while Vice President Biden was publicly pushing an anti-corruption agenda in Ukraine. Suspiciously, Hunter Biden’s associate had a media statement on Burisma approved by Vice President Biden himself the same day Hunter Biden ‘called D.C.’ for help with the government pressure facing Burisma. Americans demand accountability for this abuse of government office for the benefit of the Biden family. The Oversight Committee will continue to pursue all evidence to provide much needed transparency to the American people.”
