According to recent reports, the outgoing Biden-Harris administration is attempting to hire thousands of bureaucrats for roles based on diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) as President-elect Donald Trump is preparing to return to the White House. Amid the craze surrounding DEI over the past few years, conservatives have fought back against the ideology, and Trump’s incoming administration has indicated it will seek to eradicate it from the federal government.
A report from the Daily Wire indicates that the federal government is currently trying to fill up to 1,200 open DEI roles. Notably, some of these positions come with taxpayer-funded salaries of over $300,000. Furthermore, dozens of these jobs were posted just days after Trump won the election in early November, with the role beginning before Trump takes office.
One such DEI job, the Deputy Assistant Secretary for Minority Health at the Department of Health and Human Services, comes with a salary exceeding $200,000. The posting explains that the ideal candidate will “exercise[] leadership to ensure that all programs under their direction reflect the principles of workforce diversity.”
Moreover, the Federal Deposit Insurance Commission (FDIC) is in the process of hiring for two positions, paying $310,000, and both of them can work from home three days a week. One role is the Director of the Office of Minority and Women Inclusion which “leads the development, implementation, and ongoing review and renewal of the FDIC’s Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Strategic Plan. Contributes to the development and implementation of FDIC-wide operations as a DEIA advocate. Develops, coordinates, and implements DEIA policies, programs, operations, and procedures throughout the FDIC.” The candidate will be expected to “defend [the Office Of Minority and Women Inclusion’s] formal budget program requests.”
In another case, the FDIC’s Office of Equal Employment is seeking a directory who “develops Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO), Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Accessibility (DEIA), employee development, employee performance, and other personnel plans, processes, programs.” This position will also be compensated $310,000.
Additionally, the Defense Equal Opportunity Management Institute (DEOMI) within the Pentagon is looking to hire a social media role that works remotely for over $100,000 per year. The DEOMI is known for creating woke posters, that include statements such as, “Diversity: ‘I want to celebrate the richness and diversity of our faith experience in this country.’ -Senator Barack Obama 08’”
However, the Trump administration’s Department of Government Efficiency (D.O.G.E.) has sought to enact mass firings of bureaucrats in the federal government. The American Tribune recently reported on comments from Vivek Ramaswamy, who explained that the expects to see “mass reductions” and certain agencies to be “deleted outright.”

“Over the last 40 years, even conservatives, we’ve talked a big game for 40 years about cutting the federal government, about reducing the scope of the federal government,” Vivek said. “Politicians haven’t been able to do it. And so Elon and I, we’re not politicians. We’re businessmen. We’re coming at it from the outside. Sometimes if you go inside, you become native to the system.”
Ramaswamy continued, “We expect mass reductions … We expect certain agencies to be deleted outright. We expect mass reductions in force in areas of the federal government that are bloated. We expect massive cuts of all federal contractors and others who are overbilling the federal government. So, yes, we expect all of the above.”
