Biden Reportedly “Stunned,” “Plunged Into Sadness” by Latest Hunter Indictment News

Hunter Biden’s plea deal fell to pieces after the judge in the case questioned its constitutionality. Following that incident, Attorney General Merrick Garland appointed David Weiss as the Special Counsel in the case. Somewhat surprisingly, given that Weiss is the one behind the plea deal, a court document he filed recently makes it appear that he is poised to indict Hunter by the end of September, a detail that has reportedly sent President Joe Biden into the pit of despair.

As background, the recently filed court filing provides, “The Speedy Trial Act requires that the Government obtain the return of an indictment by a grand jury by Friday, September 29, 2023, at the earliest. The Government intends to seek the return of an indictment in this case before that date.”

The Speedy Trial Act requires that “Any information or indictment charging an individual with the commission of an offense shall be filed within thirty days from the date on which such individual was arrested or served with a summons in connection with such charges.”

So, thanks to that act of Congress and the appearance of Hunter’s guilt, Weiss would appear ready to indict Hunter within weeks, something that has reportedly left President Joe Biden “stunned” and “plunged” him “into sadness.”

Such is what the New York Times reported in a bombshell article released on Sunday, saying that several people close to the president reported that “The possibility of a federal indictment of Hunter Biden stunned the president.”

Continuing, the report claimed that sources told the NYT, “He plunged into sadness and frustration. Since then, his tone in conversations about Hunter has been tinged with a resignation that was not there before, his confidants say.”

The report next added that a flood of emotions are mixed in with the bad legal news thanks to how the Biden Family operates, claiming, “The saga reflects the painful dynamics of the first family, shaped by intense ambition and deep loss, along with anger and guilt.”

Still, some Republicans are not convinced that Weiss actually has much of note ready to throw Hunter’s way. Mide Davis, a conservative Twitter personality who is also the founder and president of the pro-Trump Article III Project and former chief counsel for nominations to Senate Judiciary chairman Chuck Grassley, said, “Don’t be fooled. Both Democrat senators picked Delaware U.S. Attorney David Weiss. Protected Bidens for years. Let statute of limitations expire on tax charges. Buried credible evidence of Bidens’ foreign bribery. Tried to give Hunter secret immunity.”

Davis added, “Biden knows he can’t pardon Hunter now. Politically and legally disastrous. If pardoned, Hunter can’t plead the Fifth and refuse to testify before Congress. Same with plea/immunity deal with Weiss. So Weiss’s bogus charges shield Hunter. And Joe. They’ll fix after election.”

It remains to be seen whether Biden’s fear is justified and Hunter is in serious trouble, if Davis and his side are right that the charges are a big nothing burger, or if the truth is somewhere in between.
