Biden Accused by CNN Host of “Literally Trying to Destroy” Kamala’s Campaign with Comments about Her Involvement in the Administration

CNN host Scott Jennings recently accused President Joe Biden of attempting to sabotage Vice President Kamala Harris’ campaign as a form of revenge after he dropped out of the 2024 presidential race.  Conservatives have speculated that Biden is bitter toward Harris and other high-ranking Democrats over claims that he was forced out of the race after his poor debate against former President Donald Trump.

Jennings took to X, sharing a clip of Biden at a recent press conference insisting that Vice President Harris played an integral part in the administration.  “He is literally trying to destroy her campaign and it’s just incredible,” he said.  One of the chief criticisms against Harris’ campaign has questioned why she hasn’t accomplished her agenda for the past several years she has been in the White House.

A commonly touted rebuttal to this criticism has been that since Kamala Harris is only the vice president, a mostly ceremonial role, she is not primarily responsible for the administration’s overall accomplishments, or lackthereof. However, when Biden continues to assert that he has delegated responsibility to Harris and highlights her outsized role as the vice president, it defeats her defense against the attacks.

A reporter asked Biden recently, “There obviously been a number of crises been facing over the past several days with the hurricane. There have obviously been a number of crises that the country has been facing over the past several days with the hurricane, with the port strike, with the situation in the Middle East. Can you talk about how your vice president, who is running for the presidency, has worked on these crises, and what role she has played over the past several days?”

Biden replied, “Well, she’s, I’m in constant contact with her. She’s aware where we all were singing from the same song sheet. We she helped pass all the laws that are being employed now. She was a major player in everything we’ve done, including passage of legislation, which we were told we could never pass, And so she’s been, and her her staff is interlocked with mine, in terms of all the things we’re doing.”

Conservative influencer Mario Nawfal commented on Jennings’ claim, writing on X, “BIDEN’S REVENGE? CNN HOST ACCUSES HIM OF SABOTAGING KAMALA’S CAMPAIGN Scott Jennings said Biden was “literally trying to destroy her campaign” after he emphasized her role in their administration’s successes and failures. Biden’s surprise press briefing was also criticized for overshadowing Kamala’s speech in Michigan, where she appealed to union workers to endorse her campaign.”

“It looks like Biden’s comments may have unintentionally undermined Harris’s campaign. This raises concerns about party unity and could impact her support among key voters. It’s important for them to present a cohesive front moving forward,” another person wrote in the comments section echoing this sentiment.
