After a clip of New York Governor Kathy Hochul vowing to undermine President Trump’s immigration policy surfaced on social media, conservative influencers called to arrest the Democrat for her flagrant abuse of authority. During a conversation with woke political commentator David Pakman, the governor announced that she had banned New York State police from cooperating with Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE).
As background, Hichul has a long history of open-borders insanity, including a directive restricting state officials from operating with ICE and a law that bans ICE from making arrests in courthouses. Newly minted AG Pam Bondi responded to Hochul’s defiance by bringing charges against the governor and other top New York officials.
Such was shown in her March 23, 2025, conversation with Pakman, where Governor Kathy Hochul committed to defying the president’s authority. She said, “We’re not going to allow this mass deportation, where, where we will cooperate. And I did this even under the Biden administration. If you have a warrant, or you know someone’s on a terrorism watch list or committing crimes in their home country or committing crimes here, that’s a different category.”
Building on that point, the left-wing governor offered a few limited exceptions to her woke ruling. Hochul said, “I will help you with those to protect everyone, whether the newly arriving New Yorkers or where they’ve lived here their entire lives. So that’s really clear to me, but don’t bleed over into going to schools and sensitive places.”
Still not done, she attacked the few counties in her state that are committed to border security. The governor added, “So our state policy, our state law, does not allow for our state police to be involved in those situations. Now what we have are some renegade counties in New York because individual counties can sign a pact with ICE, and we have a lot of them, some on Long Island, some in upstate New York, where there’s different political views.”
Wrapping up her insane rant, Hochul reiterated that she would forbid the state police, controlled by the governor’s office, from aiding ICE. She said, “They are cooperating with their local police departments, but what I control is the state police, and they will not cooperate in that.”

When a clip of the interaction was posted to X, conservatives reacted by advocating for harsh punishments. One account said, “Send in federal troops. Arrest Hochul for insurrection and human trafficking.” In the comments under this post, other accounts chimed in with their suggestions. One of the comments read, “Didn’t they warn that arrests would come if anyone interfered? Where are the arrests?”
Rounding out the comments, some users mocked Hichul for her short-sighted remarks. One such comment read, “THIS IS EXACTLY what needs to happen to ALL that impede or obstruct justice… INCLUDING “JUDGES”!” Another one of the comments said, “She needs to be penalized to the full extent of the law.” One of the the replies read, “The DEI left in tears because this is bad to not protect criminals. .”
