Another Woke, Anti-Trump Judge Exposed as Being a Democrat Activist

Mary S. McElroy joined the ranks of many far-left judges by issuing an injunction against the Trump administration, preventing the president from making changes to environmental policy. However, upon deeper inspection, the judge has a long history of biased rulings and Democrat advocacy that have led many to question her impartiality.

For context, Trump’s second term has been characterized by judicial overstep. Federal judges, such as the infamous Judge James Boasberg, have defied presidential authority by issuing injunctions that have stymied the administration’s progress on immigration, DEI, and climate issues.

Beginning the controversy, McElroy wrote that the president is not allowed to alter executive agencies. She wrote, “Agencies do not have unlimited authority to further a President’s agenda, nor do they have unfettered power to hamstring in perpetuity two statutes passed by Congress during the previous administration.”

Responding to Trump’s Health and Human Services (HHS) Department, which had revoked $11 billion in grants, she said, “The harm to the plaintiff states and the plaintiff agencies if we cease that … is clearly irreparable.”

Rejoicing over the unfair ruling, Skye Perryman, the CEO of woke NGO Democracy Forward, reacted, “By blocking these investments in local communities and projects, the administration is jeopardizing public health initiatives, environmental protections, and economic stability.”

Unsurprisingly, the Judge has a long history in Democratic party politics. While being questioned in the Senate, she stated, “I participated in efforts to encourage young people to register to vote and to become involved in the political process and support the electoral efforts of Democrat candidates.”

Reacting to the absurd situation, Senator Mike Lee (R-UT) introduced the Judicial Insurrectionists Act of 2025 in March to establish “a three-judge panel to swiftly review injunctions or declaratory relief” against the president and the executive branch.”

Supporting his act, Lee issued a statement decrying activist judges. He said, “America’s government cannot function if the legitimate orders of our Commander in Chief can be overridden at the whim of a single district court judge. They have presumed to run the military, the civil service, foreign aid, and HR departments across the Executive Branch—blatantly unconstitutional overreach. This legislation will create a judicial panel to expedite Supreme Court review of these blanket injunctions, preventing unelected radicals in robes from sabotaging the separation of powers.”

When the drama made its way to social media on April 16, 2025, users were incensed by the blatant overreach. One post read, “Democrat-aligned NGOs are being protected by activist judges left and right. Judge Mary S. McElroy, a former Democrat activist, is forcing Trump to fund Marxists climate change NGOs led by prominent Democrats. Most annoying is the fact that the Obama-appointed judge was blocked by the Senate, but eventually appointed by Trump in his first term.”

In the comments under this post, users expressed anger at the far-left judge. One such comment read, “This should not even be a thing considering the most important part of a judges job is to be unbiased. Not allowing personal feelings and desires to influence their decisions. Clearly, these judges are biased and acting on that. This is evident when they inject themselves into situations they have no say in individually. So why are we discussing their actions instead of their impeachment trials?”
