Passengers on a recent American Airlines flight are being praised after they stepped in to help restrain an unruly man during a trip from Milwaukee to Texas. Recounting the harrowing incident, described as “fight ro flight”, Doug McCright from McKinney, Texas, was one of three men who bravely interjected to subdue the out-of-control passenger.
The outraged man reportedly charged a flight attendant, claiming that he needed to exit the plane because he was the “captain.” The incident unfolded near McWright’s seat at the front of the plane. “I could tell that the conversation was not going very well,” he said. “I said, ‘Sir, she wants you to go back to your seat. You need to go back to your seat…He turns and he says, ‘I’m getting off this flight! I want off this flight,” McWright added.
From there, the man assaulted the flight attendant while trying to access the cabin door, prompting McWright to act. Fellow passenger Charlie Boris also stepped in to restrain the man. “It was kind of a fight or flight situation,” Boris said. He added, “Everyone just really helped and put together effort, and we all get to go to Thanksgiving.”
A Dallas Fort Worth International Airport spokesperson told Fox News Digital that the unruly man had been taken into police custody. “DFW Airport Department of Public Safety police officers responded to arriving American Airlines flight 1915 on Nov. 19 to a report of a disruptive passenger on board. Officers took one person into custody, and the investigation is ongoing,” they said.
The American Tribune recently reported on other news in the airline industry where Delta Airlines faced substantial backlash after its woke DEI initiatives were exposed. DEI & Social Impact Officer Kyra Lynn Johnson said in 2021 that the phrase “ladies and gentlemen” should be phased out because it is not sufficiently inclusive.
The DEI officer said, “So we’re beginning to take a hard look at things like our gatehouse announcements. You know, we welcome ‘ladies and gentlemen.’ And we’ve asked ourselves, ‘Is that as gender inclusive as we want to be?’ You know, we’re looking at some legacy language that exists in some of our employee manuals. And getting to the root of the way some things are described and saying, ‘Does that actually send a message of inclusivity?’”
For several years, Delta has sought to update its language to be more in line with woke gender ideology and cater to DEI. “Delta encourages our people to use language that is inclusive of everyone as our global customer base includes a broad range of diversity in cultural backgrounds, identity and experiences,” a spokesperson said.
Johnson expounded on Delta’s diversity goals during a panel in 2021, saying, “To really come out and say, as an organization, that we are an antiracist company was really important to us. We are going to actively seek diversity. We’re also talking about how we’re going to boldly pursue equity. And we’re talking about the steps we’re taking to consciously promote inclusion. So, we realize, like many of you have, that it’s not enough just to say, ‘We aren’t racist,’ but to say that you are antiracist.”
