“Already a Democrat Masquerading as a Republican”: Purple State RINO Skewered after He Finally Ditches the GOP and Joins the Democrats

Disgraced, former Georgia Lt. Gov. Geoff Duncan switched from Republican to Democrat in August 2025, citing a “daily struggle to love my neighbor” under GOP policies on guns and supposed Medicaid cuts. Doubling down on his treachery, he blamed the 2020 election, even before he was expelled by the Georgia GOP for endorsing Biden/Harris and the DNC speech.

Additionally, Duncan has launched a 2026 gubernatorial bid as a Democrat, vowing to unite voters against Trump, prompting a thunderous response from Trump on social media. Likewise, many conservatives took to X, formerly Twitter, to blast the turncoat.

When the news reached social media, conservatives were enraged. “Dude was already a Democrat masquerading as a Republican. Now at least he’s being honest about who he’s always been,” one comment read.

Agreeing, another added, “You don’t see many people jumping on a sinking ship. But, agree. He must be so deep and tangled that he has no choice. The criminal charges will come either way.” Despondent, one woman quipped, “He figured out how to get into the donor money game is my guess. My state is truly screwed right now.”

Confused, a comment asked, “Why would a republican in his position turn to the Democratic party, a losing party w/their polling numbers in the basement?? Check his bank acct, is Soros paying again?” Rounding out the commetns one noted, “Great timing there, Geoff. What’s next? Are you booking a vacation beside an active volcano?”

Justifying his betrayal, Geoff Duncan alleged, “My journey to becoming a Democrat started well before Donald Trump tried to steal the 2020 election in Georgia. There’s no date on a calendar or line in the sand that points to the exact moment in time my political heart changed, but it has.”

Still not done, the disgraced politician whined, “My decision was centered around my daily struggle to love my neighbor, as a Republican. The list of reasons why I’m now a Democrat continues to grow. Most importantly, my decision puts me in the best possible position each day to love my neighbor.”

Reacting to the treachery, the president said, “Failed former Lt. Governor Geoff Duncan, of Georgia, is a total loser. Was never able to get anything done, all he ever did was complain. We didn’t want him in the Republican Party any longer, so I’m told he became a Democrat. Good riddance Geoff. You don’t even have a chance!!!”

Firing back, Duncan complained, “I think he’s making my case for me that the Republican Party no longer wants to love their neighbor. I find it easier to love my neighbor as a Democrat. It’s not a perfect landing spot, but it gives me a better opportunity each day when I wake up to love my neighbor.”

Wheeling out tired woke talking points, the former Lt. Governor alleged, “Every time we had a gun conversation, it was kind of: neglect what the masses want. And that’s some sort of gun control,” adding, “I have been receiving phone calls and conversations and cups of coffee from Democrats, independents and even some common sense Republicans who are sick and tired of watching not only the direction of this party, but this country — encouraging me to look into seeking higher office. And it’s something I’ll seriously consider.”
