Alec Musser, star of the hit show “All My Children,” passed away at the age of 50. His heartbroken fiancee took to Instagram to make a quick statement about his death, breaking the news to the countless fans who are heartbroken by the loss of one of television’s biggest stars.
Musser’s fiancee, Paige Press, took to Instagram to release the news about her loss. In stories, she posted a message to fans and a brief message to Alec. According to People, she wrote, “RIP to the love of my life, I will never stop loving you. My heart is broken… Today is the worst day of my life. We were so happy. You were the best fiancée I could of ever asked for.”
Hollywood star Adam Sandler also took time to share the sadness he was feeling after the loss, posting a picture of the late Musser on Instagram. Sandler, Musser, and Salma Hayek were all actors on the set of the hit movie “Grown Ups,” so the loss clearly shook both stars to their core.
Sandler had nothing but nice words to say about his co-star. He wrote, “I loved this guy. Cannot believe he is gone. Such a wonderful, funny good man. Thinking of Alec Musser and his family and sending all my love. A true great sweetheart of a person.”
Hayek took a similar stance, speaking about what a great man and a joy to work with Musser had been. She shared her condolence with his family, saying, “In loving memory of Alec Musser. He was so kind professional and absolutely hillarious. His early departure breaks my heart. I feel so blessed that I got to meet him. My sincere condolences to his family and loved ones for this great loss.”
Later on, it was reported by Variety that Musser’s cause of death was suicide. The publication noted that the actor died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head. Suicide is a growing epidemic in America, especially among men. As the Centers for Disease Control points out on its official website, suicidal thoughts impact millions of people on an annual basis across the globe.
The CDC explained its serious mentality toward suicide prevention, writing, “Suicide is a serious public health problem that can have lasting harmful effects on individuals, families, and communities. There are many factors that contribute to suicide. The goal of suicide prevention is to reduce factors that increase risk and increase factors that promote resilience.”
The CDC urges readers to “Contact the 988 Suicide and Crisis Lifeline if you are experiencing mental health-related distress or are worried about a loved one who may need crisis support.” The lifeline can be reached by calling or texting 988 or by going to their live chat website at 988lifeline.org.
