“Ain’t Gonna Back Down”: Coach’s Passionate Speech Has Inspired An Entire City

The Indianapolis Colts have named former star player Jeff Saturday as the new head coach of the team.

In a week that contained many great speeches, including Ron DeSantis’ wowing victory speech, this speech by Saturday stands out.

This decision has raised eyebrows across the league since Saturday has no experience coaching a team, let alone an NFL team that is reeling from a poor start to the season.

Saturday was taking questions during his first media day as head coach and here is an awesome answer to the question about whether he has the ability to succeed in this role given his limited appearance, shared by Colts Militia on Twitter.

Wow. Im genuinely pumped to see what Jeff Saturday can do for the Colts🔥 pic.twitter.com/cupkPBnmYi

Here’s the deal, I’m completely comfortable in who I am as a man, bro. I know I can lead men, I know I know the game of football and I am passionate about it. I have no fear about, ‘are you as qualified as someone else?’

I spent 14 years in a locker room. I went to the playoffs 12 times. I got five dudes in the Hall of Fame that played with me. You don’t think I’ve seen greatness? You don’t think I’ve seen how people prepare, how they coach, how they GM, how they work?

I’ve won Super Bowls, been to two. Here’s the deal men. None of us are promised a good job. I may be terrible at this and after 8 games I’ll say ‘God bless you, I am no good.’ I may be really good at it, I got no idea, but I dang sure ain’t gonna back down, I can tell you that.

It’s this statement right at the end that has Colts fans hopeful and excited for the next chapter.

The Colts are 3-5-1, which is currently second place in the AFC South, and on a three-game losing streak but the newfound hope for the fanbase is palpable.

Jeff Saturday has given the city of Indianapolis a new horse to bet on and allowed the team to dream of the playoffs again.

Fans of the team are taking to Twitter to show their support for the new team and to cheer on Coach Saturday this weekend against the Las Vegas Raiders, in Las Vegas.

I heard Coach Saturday speak to a group of High School players when he played for the Colts. I was ready to run through a wall for him afterwords!! This man gets it! He is definitely a leader of men!! I AM IN @COLTS

Like everyone else, thought this was a crazy hire but I like that energy, that’s for sure

That’s just a dude you bet on. Straight up, he doesn’t have a politician’s wriggle. He’ll give you all he’s got, he’s done this at the highest level, he’s a leader of men. Stand back and let the man go to work.

I have to say, even though I am not a fan of the Colts, I will be cheering them on this Sunday as Jeff Saturday makes his coaching debut.
