I recently rediscovered a video, House Democrats can be seen melting down epically as Republicans yell in a vain attempt to restore order to Congress. Enraged by Trump’s rescission bill, which pulled funding for NPR and PBS, the Democrats were unable to control themselves.
For context, President Trump has often directed harsh criticism at NPR, such as when he said, “We’re well covered. Look at all the people that we have here today. We’re well covered, and we don’t need it. And it’s a waste of money, especially. I don’t even know what DOGE’s recommendation is.”
In any case, the embarrassing clip was posted by a prominent conservative influencer on X on July 2, 2025, to draw attention to the party-wide meltdown. The post read, “🚨 INSANE: Democrats are now acting like little children and screaming and yelling at the top of their lungs on the House floor. This is beyond pathetic. Even for them.”
However, despite left-wing theatrics. The bill was passed, dealing a devastating blow to NPR. As the outlet itself wrote, the bill “rescinds $9 billion in previously allocated funds, including $1.1 billion for the Corporation for Public Broadcasting (CPB) — a move that cuts all federal support for NPR, PBS, and their member stations — and about $7 billion in foreign aid.”
Building on this point, NPR CEO Katherine Maher, who has clashed with Republican lawmakers numerous times, bemoaned the massive cuts. She whined, “The cut [to CPB funding] is an irreversible loss to the public radio system. It is an unwarranted dismantling of beloved local civic institutions, and an act of Congress that disregards the public will.”
Still not done, the entitled CEO ranted, “Public funding has enabled the flourishing of a uniquely American system of unparalleled cultural, informational, and educational programming, and ensured access to vital emergency alerting and reporting in times of crisis — all for about $1.60 per American, every year. Parents and children, senior citizens and students, tribal and rural communities — all will bear the harm of this vote.”
Describing the irreparable damage to her woke company, Paula Kerger, PBS CEO, gave a dire prediction. She said, “These cuts will significantly impact all of our stations, but will be especially devastating to smaller stations and those serving large rural areas. Many of our stations which provide access to free unique local programming and emergency alerts will now be forced to make hard decisions in the weeks and months ahead.”

Offering an embarrassing and breathless take, Sen. Chuck Schumer (D-NY), the Senate minority leader, complained, “The rescissions package is an affront to the bipartisan appropriations process. That’s why a number of Senate Republicans know it is absurd for them to expect Democrats to act as business as usual and engage in a bipartisan appropriations process to fund the government, while they concurrently plot to pass a purely partisan rescissions bill to defund those same programs negotiated on a bipartisan basis behind the scenes.”
Watch the disgraceful freakout here:
Taking a different tack, Office of Management and Budget Director Russell Vought was hopeful about the bill’s progress. He said, “There is still a great enthusiasm for these rescissions bills, because Congress wants to be a part of voting for these cuts and making them permanent.”
