“Absolute Fail”: Gavin Newsom Roasted for “Embarrassing” Disaster that Made a Mockery of His Anti-Trump Speech

The Democratic Governor of California has faced widespread mockery for a prerecorded televised message that featured multiple technical failures, including audio cutoffs and distortions. Newsom slammed President Donald Trump’s decision to call in the military to address widespread anti-ICE riots in Los Angeles, calling the decision a  “brazen abuse of power.”

As background, President Trump announced on Friday, June 6, that he would be federalizing the California National Guard to protect federal agents from ICE and DHS from violent rioters, who were targeting them in an attempt to delay the ICE raids targeting illegal aliens. However, Democrats, such as LA Mayor Karen Bass and Gavin Newsom, have tried to blame Trump for inciting the riots in a cynical play to increase their popularity.

In his garbled speech, Newsom said, “This isn’t just about protests here in Los Angeles. This is about all of us. This is about you. California may be first, but it clearly will not end here. Other states are next. Democracy is next. Democracy is under assault before our eyes.”

Mocking the pathetic announcement, David Freeman, a conservative political commentator, said, “Gavin Newsom’s staff can’t even set up a stream properly as his ‘Major Announcement’ has NO AUDIO. If they can’t do this correct, what makes anyone believe they can run California at all? EMBARRASSING!”

Echoing the widespread mockery, Kevin Dalton, a prominent conservative influencer, noted, “Gavin Newsom’s ‘Major Address to Californians’ was a prerecorded video that was initially streamed without audio. After several minutes, a new color corrected version of the same video with actual audio was started. What an absolute fail.”

Some media outlets, such as The Washington Observer, took swings at the embattled Democrat. They said, “Sean Hannity is desperately trying to play Gavin Newsom’s speech — but he can’t, because Newsom’s audio is melting down for the third time tonight.” Put more succinctly, Link Lauren called the press conference an “UTTER CALAMITY.”

Annoyed by the lack of professionalism, Sen. Markwayne Mullin (R-OK) declared, “So, I went on Sean Hannity to react to Gavin Newsom’s speech. Turns out, it was a total mess. Disorganized. Bad audio. But, what else should we expect from this poor excuse for a leader?”

Rounding out the online condemnation, White House assistant to the president and director of communications Steven Cheung quipped,  “Gavin NewScum spent all this time–instead of doing his actual job– preparing for a webinar just for the audio to not work. The production quality is just like his leadership quality– s—ty.”

As we reported, President Donald Trump has blasted Newsom’s reaction to the riots, hilariously noting that “You were talking about unrest in American cities. You said, quote, ‘We have to go by the laws. We can’t call in the National Guard unless we’re requested by a governor.’ What changed now? Why is this situation different?”

Continuing his rebuke, Trump said, “Well, the biggest change from that statement is we have an incompetent governor. So I talked about governors, but I didn’t talk about he’s an incompetent governor. Look at the job he’s doing in California. He’s destroying one of our great states. And if I didn’t get involved, if we didn’t bring the guard in, and we would bring more in if we needed it, because we have to make sure there’s going to be law and order. You had a disaster happening, and they now admit it was a disaster.”
