Nowadays, it seems very few topics bring the entire right-wing together, but the constant overflow of mental lapses and absurdities spouted by the hosts of The View never ceases to allow us all a good laugh together. Now, thanks to Newsbusters, we have a final count on the hilarious errors and deceptive “truths” spouted from the host’s mouths this year.
The women of The View, headlined by the boisterous Whoopi Goldberg, was subject to 36 statements that walked back the often hate-filled rhetoric of the show. A look back on their year offers a little insight into the outrageous claims that forced the cast to make retractions and the half-hearted apologies that ensued in the subsequent episodes.
Among the most pathetic of the apologies came from Whoopi herself after she claimed that Turning Point USA, a 501(c)3 group that focuses on educating young Americans about conservative values, was aligning itself with Neo-Nazis. Here was her initial statement that got her into hot water.
“You let them in and you knew what they were. So you are complicit.”
Only one issue there, Whoopie. That’s completely false. The following retraction was read by Sara Haines, a co-host of The View, later that week.
“So, on Monday we talked about the fact there were openly neo-Nazi demonstrators outside the Florida Student Action Summit of the Turning Point USA group. We want to make clear these demonstrators were gathered outside the event and that they were not invited or endorsed by Turning Point USA.”
Later, Whoopi also had to make a personal retraction, saying, “My bad.” That sure is heartfelt, and to nobody’s surprise the show would go on to make 34 more retractions in 2024.
In another instance, Sunny Hostin was forced to recant her statement that Donald Trump was an “illegitimate president”, in a moment shared by The American Tribune.
“The assumption was, at least mine, I’ll speak for myself, that Russia must have been involved because we knew that from the Mueller report that Russia had some involvement, Russia thought that it could have benefitted from a Trump presidency, which it did by the way. But I remember calling him an illegitimate president, and that was wrong. I should not have said that. Because he was not an illegitimate president.”
By the way, you shouldn’t be surprised that these are one-off mistakes or a case of hosts having a bad day. This hateful and deceitful rhetoric is a constant for The View. Here is a clip of Hostin comparing white women who vote republican to cockroaches.

“I read a poll just yesterday that white Republican suburban women are now going to vote Republican. It’s almost like roaches voting for Raid, right? They’re voting against their own self-interest.”
Umm, no Sunny, regardless of political affiliation, women are not cockroaches. It shocks me that the party of cancel culture and feminism allowed her to stay in the air. Who knows, maybe they’re hypocrites or something.
