Things have been getting crazy at Waffle House restaurants around the country . At a Waffle House location in South Carolina, for example, an attacked employee had to fend off two armed robbers with a handgun of his own, firing at them after being assaulted by the would-be robbers. Plus, there was a wild incident in Austin, Texas, where an employee went viral on Twitter for deflecting a chair thrown her way with what some said were superhero-like reflexes.
In the profanity-laced, over two-minute-long original video, the escalating fight, involving punches thrown and vulgarities hurled, can be watched, along with the epic chair deflection. Watch that here:

The comments on that video were hilarious, with people joking that the white girl (the white Waffle House employee who deflected the chair with one hand while holding a frying pan with the other), was like an Avenger because of her fast reflexes. A representative comment on that was one person saying “That white girl is an Avenger bro.”
One commenter, however, did note that the filmer should have stepped in to help protect the woman from the attackers, saying “Glad our filmer knows what a woman is. He needs, tho, reminded heâs a man and real men donât record this nonsense but step in & stop it. I was a child when I watched my dad step into a girl fight (looked much like a cat fight) and break it up. THATâS what real men do.đȘ”
Other people tweeted out the video with their own funny twists as well. Scott Hechinger, for example, posted:
I was curious why Waffle House was trending. I figured it was a fight. But after going down the rabbit hole, watching various clips, Iâve come to the conclusion that this was no fight.
This was the global coronation of a new superhero. âWaffle House Girl.â
Joining in the superhero fun were other commenters too. Actor and musician Mekka Don, for example, tweeted “She needs to be the lead in the next action film. Waffle House job training is off the chain.”
But the superhero joke wasn’t the only one. P odcast host Aaron Sagers, for example, tweeted “Maybe I’m an old softy. But what if, just maybe, we could collectively set aside our differences, join together, and enter 2023 in harmonious agreement that Waffle House Girl is the bada– MVP of the year.”
Another joked that Waffle House executives must be having some wild conversations in their board rooms given what’s going on at their restaurants, saying “I really wonder what conversations take place at Waffle House HQ.”
The video was from 2021, not 2022, as “Wallstreet Ray”, who originally posted it, noted. Still, it’s a wild video that shows the times we live in: out of control people acting up in a terribly destructive way, causing chaos for those around them, and then getting taught a lesson they’ll surely complain about by those willing to stand up to them.
