Has Biden or his administration said anything about Christians or Christianity since six Christians were murdered by a transgender shooter at the Covenant School in Nashville, TN? Shockingly, no.
News on that comes from the Daily Wire, which noted “The Biden administration‘s response to the horrific Christian school shooting on Monday has been pretty odd. Notably, unlike other attacks on religious or ethnic groups, it does not appear that any member of the Biden administration has even acknowledged that it was a Christian school, let alone that the Presbyterian school was attacked by a person who identified as transgender.”
So what did Biden say? He mainly defended the transgender community and promoted a “transgender day of visibility” on Twitter, saying “On Transgender Day of Visibility, we want you to know that we see you just as you are: Made in the image of God and deserving of dignity, respect, and support. We’ll never stop working to create a world where you won’t have to be brave just to be yourself.”
Similarly, in the statement released by the White House Briefing Room, he said:
On Transgender Day of Visibility, we celebrate the strength, joy, and absolute courage of some of the bravest people I know. Transgender Americans deserve to be safe and supported in every community – but today, across our country, MAGA extremists are advancing hundreds of hateful and extreme state laws that target transgender kids and their families. No one should have to be brave just to be themselves.
Let me be clear: These attacks are un-American and must end. The bullying, discrimination, and political attacks that trans kids face have exacerbated our national mental health crisis. More than half of transgender youth say they have seriously considered suicide. Loving parents are terrified for their children’s futures. To help, my Administration is providing dedicated emergency mental health resources: If you’re a transgender young person who needs help, you can call 988 to reach the nationwide suicide prevention and crisis hotline. Press “3” to speak with a counselor specifically trained to support LGBTQI+ youth.
My Administration will never quit fighting to end discrimination, to stand against these unjust state laws, and to guarantee everyone the fundamental right and freedom to be who they are. We’ll never stop working to create a world where everyone can live without fear; where parents, teachers, and whole communities come together to support kids, no matter how they identify; and every child is surrounded by compassion and love.
I want every member of the trans community to know that we see you. You’re each made in the image of God, and deserve love, dignity, and respect. You make America stronger, and we’re with you.
So he’ll mention God when defending transgender people, but not when mourning the loss of those Christians who were massacred?
Further, though he has, in the past, expressed horror when people of different faiths were killed, he refused to recognize that it was Christians who were slaughtered by the transgender shooter. Tim Meads pointed that out on Twitter with some examples:

Similarly, White House Press Secretary Karien Jean Pierre claimed that it was transgender people who are under attack despite it being a transgender person that killed six Christians, saying “So, today is Transgender Day of Visibility. It’s a day where we celebrate the joy, strength, and courage of transgender Americans and their families and loved ones who support them.” Continuing, she said, “this community is under relentless attacks from Republicans across the country. Rather than uplifting or supporting everyone in our communities and focusing on issues that matter to the American people, they want to target transgender Americans and take away their freedoms.”
The White House also released a statement “affirming transgender kids,” saying:
Domestic Policy Advisor Ambassador Susan Rice and U.S. Surgeon General Dr. Vivek Murthy hosted a roundtable at the White House about the joys, hopes, and challenges that transgender children are experiencing. Transgender kids and their parents traveled to the White House from states that have attacked the rights of transgender kids, including Arizona, Texas, and Virginia, and shared the devastating effects these political attacks are having on their mental health and wellbeing. As one round table participant shared, it feels scary when the politicians elected to represent you don’t care about your wellbeing. Families participating in today’s roundtable also highlighted that transgender kids can thrive when parents love and affirm their transgender children, and when transgender kids have access to the support they need at school and in their communities. Ambassador Rice and Dr. Murthy reiterated the Biden-Harris Administration’s commitment to standing up for the rights of transgender kids and their parents, and to challenging state laws that harm transgender kids. They also thanked the families for their unwavering advocacy and bravery in challenging these discriminatory laws.
