The iconic 757 used by Donald Trump has jetted him around the country as a private citizen, and with midterm elections and a suspected announcement for 2024 looming ever closer, the Boeing aircraft returned to Mar-A-Lago, ready to whisk the former president around the country and be used as a backsplash in hangar gathering.
Though the plane was largely idled during Trump’s presidency, with him flying Air Force One, it has since been given new life and looks ready to take off just as Trump’s return to the political stage does likewise.
Eric Trump, one of the former president’s sons, took to social media last July showing off a video of part of the rehabbing process.

SHE’S BACK!! “During my four years in the White House, I didn’t use everybody’s favorite airplane, the Boeing 757 we campaigned on for our big 2016 WIN. Now it has been completely modernized and renovated, and looks GREAT, all done in the Great State of Louisiana, and coming back to the skies in the Fall of 2022, or maybe sooner. Get ready!” – President Donald J. Trump
CNN was one of the first outlets to report on the upgraded, freshly-painted private jet that looks ready to once more serve as a huge prop for public appearances and convenient travel tool for campaign stops and speaking engagements:
According to flight data studied and analyzed by CNN and aviation experts consulted by CNN, Trump’s jet has spent several hours over the last week running pattern flights above a small airport in Lake Charles, Louisiana, likely testing various updated components before heading to the Palm Beach International Airport, where it arrived Wednesday evening. Trump has previously indicated that the plane would be in Louisiana for repairs.
The plane’s arrival in West Palm Beach comes less than three weeks before the 2022 midterm elections and with the political world on constant watch for Trump to announce another run for the White House. While Trump’s world has felt under siege with multiple
CNN also provided a description of the private plane, noticing how its standard commercial format had been tailored to suit the Trump family’s personal flying preferences:
A standard passenger Boeing 757-200 series has about 228 seats. Trump’s custom 757 features 43 seats – along with a main bedroom, guest suite, dining room, VIP area and custom galley. Trump has mainly flown to-and-from various destinations on his much smaller, eight-seater, 1997 Cessna 750 Citation X. That plane does have a small Trump-family crest painted on the fuselage but lacks the giant Trump name on its outside.
The sight of the famous Trump plane will surely animate an already-excited base and rile up an already-agitated base. In one of their news broadcasts, even CNN’s anchors couldn’t help but interpret the plane’s arrival back in West Palm Beach as a precursor of bigger things to come.
After the midterm elections deliver a resounding rebuttal to the disastrous policies of the Biden administration, it seems that Donald Trump would have the opportune time to announce his bid for the White House in 2024. With one of his largest and most visible namesakes cleared for takeoff again, the timing would certainly make sense.
