Former Harvard Law Professor Alan Dershowitz just told Fox News Channel’s Maria Bartiromo that Alvin Bragg, the Manhattan DA behind the potential attempt to indict and arrest former President Donald Trump, could be disbarred if he uses Michael Cohen’s testimony in his quest to indict former President Donald Trump.
That came on Sunday, when Dershowitz argued that because Cohen is a “perjuring liar,” DA Bragg could be disbarred for using his testimony. Speaking on that, he said he is not confident that an “indictment can actually come forward now after the comments made by [Robert] Costello.” Mediate, reporting on why Costello is important to the case, said:
Costello, a Trump ally and former legal adviser to Michael Cohen, went before the Manhattan grand jury to testify against Cohen’s credibility. Costello testified that Cohen took the initiative in arranging the hush money agreement with Daniels, even as Cohen maintains that he did so at Trump’s direction and was reimbursed for it while the Trump Organization tried to cover it up.
Continuing, Dershowitz argued that “He [Costello] has proved that the main witness [Michael Cohen] is going to be a perjuring liar on the witness stand, and that puts the district attorney in a terrible position.”
So, Dershowitz argued, if D.A. Bragg “uses Cohen as a witness, he could actually lose his bar license. It’s unethical to put a witness on the stand who you know is lying, and he has to know that Cohen will be lying. Or he tries the case without Cohen, which would be very difficult, or he does the right thing: he drops the case.”
Dershowitz then added “maybe grand jurors would finally wake up and say ‘No, we’re not ham sandwiches here. We’re gonna stand up for the law and the law says you don’t indict under these circumstances.”

Former President Donald Trump, commenting on Dershowitz’s comments on Truth Social, said “They have absolutely no case. The only witnesses are against their so-called “star” witness, a serial liar, convicted felon, and disbarred lawyer. I did nothing wrong, and they know it. This, and everything else that they are doing with the DOJ-led Witch Hunt, is all about ELECTION INTERFERENCE, their new and “highly sophisticated” method of cheating on Elections!”
That comment came shortly after Trump posted a video of the massive crowd at his recent Waco, Texas rally and said, “In USA history, there has never been anything like this. There is great love, but there is also an unbelievable amount of discontent with the “leadership” of our Country. We are being run into a very dangerous rathole. MAGA!!!”
Epstein victim Virginia Guiffre alleged in a lawsuit that Dershowitz “was also a participant in sex trafficking, including as one of the men to whom Epstein lent out Plaintiff for sex.” However, she later dropped that lawsuit and admitted that she might have misidentified him after he sued for defamation. So, like Trump, he has dealt with racy, likely false accusations.
