A New Jersey mother of two, law student, and former Student Teacher of the Year is suing her local police chief and officials at a nearby Air Force Base over sexual posters in an elementary school and their allegedly targeting her as a security threat after she drew attention to those inappropriate posters.
That New Jersey mom is named Angela Reading. Her lawsuit was brought against nine people and was sparked by an incident that occurred in November of 2022. That was when she attended “Math Night” at Upper Elementary School and was stunned to see posters made by children that used sexual terms like “polysexual,” “pansexual,” and “genderqueer.”
Posting about the sexual posters on Facebook, Reading said, “Why are elementary schools promoting/allowing elementary KIDS to research sexuality and create posters? This is not in the state elementary standards (law) nor in the BOE-approved curriculum. It’s perverse and should be illegal to expose my kids to sexual content.”
The school dismissed her concerns, but a local U.S. Army Reserve Major, Christopher Schilling, attached to the nearby Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst, didn’t ignore it. Instead, he went on the warpath against reading. According to the lawsuit, Schilling emailed parents and local school staff members while attempting to involve personnel at the base in an attempt to both censor and retaliate against Reading.
The lawsuit alleges that Major Schilling sent a message “falsely alleging that Mrs. Reading’s protected speech violated the School Ethics Act and school district policy, even though her Facebook post clearly stated that she was merely expressing her own opinion on social media, which policy expressly permits.”
Then, jumping in and joining the woke major was School Superintendent Helen Payne, who sent a “letter to the community” claiming Reading’s actions had “resulted in both general and specific threats against the District and its personnel.” In reality, no such “specific threats” had been made.
But the woke retaliation wasn’t done. Joining the woke major and school superintendent was Robert Duff, the chief of police for North Hanover Township. He, the lawsuit alleges, pressured the Facebook group administrator in which Reading posted about the sexual posters to remove Reading’s post. He even went so far as to claim that “students could die” if the post remained up.
Reding was then verbally abused, resigned from her school board post, resigned from her positions in the New Jersey School Boards Association, and her husband resigned as president of the North Hanover Township School Board.
Speaking to CBN News about the incident, Reading said, “My entire life has been uprooted. When all of this was taking place, I’m in law school and I had to stop going to school, not take my exams, which plummeted my GPA. I had to pull my kids from school during that time period for their safely. And now I don’t feel safe for them even going back to that school given how so many members of the community and the superintendent participated in this cancellation and betrayal of me as a security threat.”
Oh, and the Air Force base was allegedly involved, as the lawsuit argues that “The Joint Base further falsely claimed to the media that Defendant Schilling was acting alone when in fact, he had acted with the other Joint Base Actors under the respective authority of their Joint Base Superiors.”
Why was the Air Force getting involved in helping an Army Major persecute a woman for not wanting her young children to be surrounded by sexual posters? Apparently, the woke mind virus has completely overtaken the armed forces.
