After being routed 96-68 by Kansas in the first round of the NCAA men’s basketball tournament, HBCU “student-athletes” from the Howard Bison probably want nothing more than to lick their wounds. Nothing against Howard; they had a tall order going up against #1 seed Kansas.
Despite a #16 seed never having defeated a #1, a season-ending loss never feels good.
So it seems unlikely they were looking forward to a pep talk after their defeat, which is exactly what happened when diversity-hire Kamala Harris entered their locker room with her neutered husband, the Second Gentleman Dough Emhoff.
What happened next perfectly summarizes Harris’ atrocious public speaking. Poorly worded, ignorant of the context of her appearance, and condescending to the max. It’s not an overstatement to compare her tone and delivery to that of a preschool teacher addressing toddlers.
But here she was, going into the locker room of the tournament-bounced Bison, saying things in a way only Kamala Harris could do.
Imagine losing in the first round of the NCAAs by 28 points and then this dud of a human wanders in and starts lecturing you like she's Gene Hackman in "Hoosiers" https://t.co/PkCdlP7XZC

“Imagine losing in the first round of the NCAAs by 28 points and then this dud of a human wanders in and starts lecturing you like she’s Gene Hackman in ‘Hoosiers’,” Ben Shapiro prefaced watching the video.
“You guys did so good. You guys did so good,” Harris says with an awkward clapping motion as she takes her place in front of the team.
“You played hard play to the very last second. You made all…so proud. So you hustled out there, you are smart. You are disciplined. You put everything you have into the game,” she told players.
“And you know that’s what it’s about, right? until the last minute. You guys did that. You didn’t stop until the last second. You did not stop,” she said, somehow suggesting they played meaningful minutes in the closing portion despite not even covering the spread.
“And it was so inspiring. So you keep playing with chin up and shoulders back. Because you show the world who Bison are. Right? I mean, literally what you have done is in historic proportion. Yeah, I was at Howard back in the day where we were just happy that there was a game,” Harris continued, making sure she inserted herself into the speech.
“Much less get into this place. Right? And I see Bison literally all over the world. And we’ve been talking about you: this team. This team. You all. This team this year, this team.”
“You make us so proud. So I know you may not be feeling great right now. Okay? But know who you are. You are excellence. You are hard work. You are powerful. And you are winners. All right? So please know that, please know that. And I’ll see you later,” Harris tried closing, saying the most impactful words of the entire speech. Players must have been happy to see her go.
But she wasn’t done. Despite being one of 64 teams starting play on Thursday, and just one of hundreds in Division 1 basketball, she decided that the all-black college somehow deserved a place in the front of the line to visit the White House.
“And if you guys ever want to come and do a White House tour – where’s Coach, where’s Coach? There you are!
You know when you feel like playing hooky at Friday afternoon, whatever. Just come in with a White House tour, okay? I’m so proud of you. So proud of you. All right, I’ll see you later,” she finished.
Twitter comments torched the Vice president.
“I can’t imagine anything more degrading than forcing an athlete who just lost to listen to this patronizing drivel,” one remarked.
“That’s how you talk to a first grade YMCA team,” said another.
“Why does it always sound like she’s talking to a toddler in a gaga voice?” one user asked.
