Far-left actor Alec Baldwin, in a seeming quest for continuing relevance, stated in a video that was published on Monday that it has been a “nightmare” and “insane” living under the leadership of President Donald Trump, not only ranting on social media, but breaking down in tears, showcasing just how out of touch with reality rich Hollywood elites really are.
“We’ve been living in this nightmare — for me and my political consciousness — it’s been a nightmare,” Baldwin went on to say in a video shared on his Instagram account. “I can’t believe we’ve arrived where we’ve arrived. But the beginning of the end of that nightmare is tomorrow.” The Beetlejuice star then expressed his hope that Republicans and conservatives would lose big during the 2026 midterms set to take place the following day.
“Tomorrow,” the The Departed star said in the video. “Tomorrow, we go and make our first step in the direction we think this country should go in, which is to really, really be more sane. The world we’re in now, the America we’re in now is insane. It’s insane. We do everything contradictory to all common wisdom. The common wisdom of people around the world, and here we are in this nightmare.”
According to a report from Breitbart News, the actor then asserted, “We get off that path tomorrow, 2028, that’s an eternity. Two years is an eternity, in political terms.” He then added, “Tomorrow, the midterm, we begin to step in the direction of getting away from this nightmare. It begins tomorrow.” Baldwin has, on numerous occasions, expressed his fear at Trump increasing federal law enforcement in the nation’s capital, reducing crime and bringing order.
Just a year ago, Baldwin, who referred to himself as a scapegoat, filed a civil lawsuit against the Santa Fe district attorney, alleging malicious prosecution for pursuing criminal charges against him in the fatal shooting of a cinematographer on the set of his Western film, Rust. The lawsuit was ultimately dismissed, much to Baldwin’s chagrin.
The backlash against the actor on social media was swift and brutal. “Isn’t that the guy who killed someone? Why is he crying how hard life is? He got away with murder,” one user wrote, referring to the on-set incident of Rust. “You know what’s insane, Alec?? It’s insane that you can negligently kill someone and receive no penalty for it. That’s insane, Alec,” another user said.
Someone else commented on Baldwin’s fear of the increased presence of federal law enforcement in D.C., by pointing out how effective the move was in curbing the crime rate. “Lowest murder rate in 125 years. What is it you’re so miserable about Alec? Be specific. You said nothing,” a user said. Someone else referred to how the Romans used to view actors and suggested that point of view should make a comeback. “The Romans had the right idea when it came to actors. Viewing them with as little regard as that of whores,” the user wrote.
